    Hi,

Does anyone know of a generic/store brand equal to Similac Alimentum? This is what my son eats and it's very, very expensive - twice as expensive as the regular similac or enfamil.

    Thanks!

I looked everywhere and never found one. I dont think the Hypoallerenic brands have generics. :(

One of my twins is on Alimentum too. I don't think there's generic. Try calling your insurance company. I've heard that some insurance companies will help with the cost. I plan to call mine today (we just started the Alimentum on Friday).

My boy is on alimentum too. But he is also breast fed. So he has like 1-2 formula bottles/day. Its not that bad. You can call similac ask for coupons. We have 2 5 buck coupons/month. You also can search on craigslist for cheaper price. Sometimes ppl stock up a lot and have to switch formula.

I remember people posting about their insurance companies picking up the tab if you need the formula for medical reasons. We were on nutramigen for only a bottle a day and that was  expensive.

Update for me- My insurance won't cover it if its just for milk and soy allergies :( Give it a try though. I have a friend whose insurance is covering some of the cost.
