I have it all printed out...and am hoping to start it on August 6th. Friends from online who have twins-there are four of us(three of us have met)-we are going to do it together that weekend. Another friend from online did this method-and she trained her triplets. When she trained her triplets(b/b/g), she also had a 4 year old, as well as an infant(less than a year, and the triplets just turned two). She's our inspiration!

I have a few other twin moms from online who have done this method with success. They have tweaked it here or there to work for their family(like not getting rid of that drink before bed, or letting the kids use pull ups, or just day time training right now).

Give it a try! You won't know unless you try if it works! And good luck!

    Meaghan,
You told me I was going to be OK when I found out I was pregnant with Kennedy and I knew the twins weren't even going to be TWO when she was born. YOU WERE RIGHT.
Now its my turn, We essentially did the 3 day method although I didnt realize at the time that that's what I was doing. My 2 potty trained at 27 months and I have Kennedy too. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
:) I feel like our life improved 10 fold when I didnt have to change diapers for the twins. I feel like I never change K's diaper. Its AWESOME :)

Keep us updated on the results!

Thanks for posting this. I am very interested in this 3-day potty training. My twins are almost 26 months old and I find the idea of this more than appealing. Is it successful? My twins go to daycare in the afternoons so Im not sure how that would work out. Thanks for any feedback!

How much does it cost? I didn't see that on the site.

if you sign up for the "free" something or other you do finally see the cost $24... seems it includes some free online support... I'm tempted b/c ours are doing well... but I need to put the finishing touches on it... but then I hate to pay $24 for a scam if that's what it is... it did seem pretty good though from the little I read, the charts and stuff looked neat to print. but I'd love to hear if anyone signed up and paid...

hmmm...$24 isn't too bad! Can you give me the basics of what's involved without giving it all away? I am interested in getting it but want to make sure...

I pretty much did this -- and I had no idea there was a cost! My only cost was the 15 or so pairs of training pants I bought and the extra drinks/snacks that I wouldn't ordinarily give. The basic method was give salty treats (like goldfish), lots of drinks, keep them in underpants, and run them to the bathroom every time they start to go. They suggest a sort of mantra you repeat over and over, something like "big girls tee tee in the potty. I want you to do that next time." I just rinsed their pants in the tub and left them there until the end of the day. The first day, we used about all the training pants; day 2, about 10 pairs, and day 3, about 3 -- for both girls.

I waited until they were a little more than 2.5, because I was home with them for the summer. They could use the potty already, but it was not reliable.

I would say by the end of day 3, they were practically trained -- but not perfectly trained! One of my girls has a bladder the size of Rhode Island and can hold it for hours, and that along with her being constipated a lot actually made training her harder. She seemed like she was almost there, so my DH took one day off work to finish with her. He told me then that we should just ditch the pull-ups for naps and bedtime because they were confusing. So we stopped those around 30 months and we only had 3 or 4 bed-wetting accidents (and they're nearly 8 now).

If your kids are in daycare, I would say it's worth taking a long weekend to do this, as long as you can clear your calendar of everything else and just stay home drinking and peeing for 3 days.

Just wanted to add that there is a sticky in 2-4 on potty training, and there is likely more info there about the quick methods.HTH

I bought the ebook, and it was very informative. It's essentially a 3 day boot camp where you throw away the diapers for good and put them in underwear. Then you're on crotch watch so that you can catch them at the first start of peeing or pooping and then rush them into the bathroom to finish it on the potty. The author is very confident that if you do it exactly as she describes you will be successful as long as your kid is over 22 months. Well, I did it to a T when DD was 24 months and it was a big flop. She was just too young. I did it again at 30 months and it worked. I also put DS straight to underwear this week and he's had no pee accidents and only one poop accident so far. So I don't think you need this book by any means, but it is nice to have a set plan to follow if you're feeling a bit unsure about how to approach PT.

ETA: The 24/7 mentoring support is pretty good too. It's nice to be able to post a question and get a detailed response back in 24 hours. I used it several times. The responses basically reiterate what is in the book, but they also give specific suggestions based on your question and specific info about your child and how she's doing.

thanks for the info Jessie. Ours are about trained, but I need to just do the full 3 day with lots of water & salty snacks I guess to get the finishing touches on... I also think it is very confusing to keep slapping the diapers on, but I do... UGH! I also need to quit playdates while I attempt this... like today...

We did it too, when the boys were about 2.5 years old. I think we hit a perfect window of readiness, and it worked wonderfully for us. I never actually read the literature or paid any money, but one day we just put the diapers away, pulled out the underpants, and said "from now on you pee and poo in the potty". We did it in the summer (about a year ago, actually!), so we just dragged the potty out on to the deck, and whenever one started to pee we'd grab him and pull his underpants off, stick him on the potty and say in a chipper voice "let's keep your underwear dry and pee on the potty, not in your pants!" They got one smartie for each pee on the potty and two for each poo.
For the first week or so DS1 wore pull ups over his underpants for naps/night, and DS2 had to do that for about 2 weeks, plus for another week when he regressed a bit about a month later. But all in all, the method worked wonderfully and they were both 98% day trained after three days, and we did it without having to constantly ask if they had to use the potty. It was a bit messy but WELL worth it! I loved the fact that if it hadn't worked, we would have only invested three days.. we were willing to bring the diapers back out if we hadn't had any progress.
If you decide to do it, I recommend keeping a tally of how many pees/poos get into the potty and how many end up in the pants– it gives you a true sense of how well they're doing. Good luck!
