I'm wondering if there is any particular music or albums that your kids love? My sister got me some Elizabeth McMahon CD's which are lovely and really seem to engage my boys - particularly "Waltzing with Fireflies", but I'd like to try to find some other good ones. (And also after repeated listening, while I love most of them, some of the songs are getting on my nerves - I need some variety!!!) Anything out there that you find your children really enjoyed?
    Thanks in advance!

Anything by the Wiggles makes my two very happy. Although, I gotta say... the momma has had enough Wiggles here lol

these are dvds but my girls LOVE them. Classical Baby. It is an HBO special series. They have like four different kinds and they are so pretty. It is classical music set to really beautiful cartoons. It makes for a great relaxing end of the night.

Free to Be You and Me - Marlo Thomas and Friends. Yes, from 1974, but fantastic. You can listen to mp3s here.

Ooo! Ooo! I forgot about Free to Be You and Me! I grew up on that record!
Right, off to be all nostalgic now.

And thanks everyone for your suggestions, I'll be checking them out, and always happy to hear any more.

Me too! I loved that record!

I second the Laurie Berkner recommendation. You can see some of her videos on You Tube. I bought the boys a DVD of hers for their 2nd birthday. I'm also partial to They Might Be Giants, and they have a couple of children's CDs.

I really need to get a CD player on our main floor; the boys love music, but I have a hard time exposing them to it because most of our electronic equipment is in the finished basement where they can't get their greasy paws on it. ;)

My kids go nuts for the Yo Gabba Gabba cd Music is Awesome. It also has the nice side effect of being enjoyable for me to listen to. Lots of great hip, indie bands on there.

we never got our kids into "kids" music per se - but they now love the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Dave Matthews Band and pretty much anything we listen to!

Yo Gabba Gabba and Laurie Berkner are big hits around here. I am trying to get my kids into some of the classics (the Beatles, Led Zeppelin) but they aren't biting right now.
I hate to admit it but right now their absolute favorite band is the Fresh Beat Band.

As far as kid's albums go we like Justin Roberts - Meltdown! and Neil Sedaka - Waking up is hard to do

I love me some Laurie Berkner! So much so we're going to see her in concert!

And my boys do love to sing "Hey Jude" which is just oh so cute! DH would sing that to them at bedtime... I really should have them listen to what dh and I listen to!

And they took a Music Together class and they really enjoy that cd as well.
