Okay, I normally wouldn't do this, but I have to share a book I just finished. There is a pretty well-known couple of books called How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk and How to Talk So Kids Will Learn. I read them for teaching and loved them. Anyway, I recently found that these authors wrote a book just on siblings called SIBLINGS WITHOUT RIVALRY. The authors are Adele Faber & Elaine Mazlish. It was a very quick read and can be found at the library - this book has been around a while. Anyway, it was FABULOUS. Not only is now a good time it seems to start thinking about this stuff, but halfway through it I had an A-Ha moment as to why my siblings and I have the relationships we have. Eye-opening. I cannot recommend it enough if you have started considering how the heck you are going to venture into the coming years with two or more children. Especially who are at the same age. I thought it was worth sharing if anyone has an interest. Thanks :)

Cool, I'm putting this on my Kindle wish-list (after I get done slogging through a year's backlog of Entertainment Weekly  ). Thanks!

It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. ;)

OMG I subscribed to People last year...you know, I had twins and I DESERVED it...heh heh. Anyway, that sucker is $130/year. The only year I will ever have it - I guess I didn't read the fine print. Anyway, after I read this book not only did my view on some things change but I admit I got a little teary when I thought about my own upbringing as it relates to our parent/sibling relationship and it made me wish I could get my siblings to read it - might make a difference even today for us.

I read this too and LOVED it. I actually plan to re-read it again soon. They don't have much advice for this age, but it is so helpful to think about not getting into bad habits now.

I love this book as well, I'd recommend it to anyone with more than one child. Like PP said it is geared more towards slightly older children but it's a great thing to have read and have in mind.
