My kids love talking and laughing with each other about various body parts, functions, etc. They are saying them when we are out places (Library, store), and I don't know what to do to stop the behavior. We've tried various things and nothing is working. I know this is a normal phase that they are going through. But, I'm wondering what suggestions you have to get them to stop. TIA.

Oh, I so wish I had some words of wisdom for you. But we are in the same boat. It used to work to threaten to send them to the bathroom (I let them use potty talk when they are near the potty  hey, a natural consequence to send them to the bathroom for that language). But it doesn't work so well in public.

Yeah, we did the same. We told them that they can only say those words in the bathroom or with mommy/daddy and the doctor (in case there was a real issue we had to deal with). But, that doesn't seem to work. Oh, I'm looking forward to this phase ending... ;)

I ignored it, they got closer to 6 & natural self-consciousness set in & it stopped.

Same here. Along with suggesting they go to the bathroom if they wanted to talk like that .. but eventually it just stopped. Now my 3 yr old grandson is doing it. Here we go again !
