WOW, They are 3 years old and this is the first time ever that we have both gone away together without the twins. I'm in my friend's wedding this weekend in NYC and my mom is going to come and stay with the twins. This is the first time she's been alone with them for more than a few hours.

Even though I dread being in this wedding and traveling to NYC my DH and I have decided we're going to make the best of it. I'm pretty confident my mom can handle them but I know she's nervous, especially since we just did potty training boot camp last weekend.

The girls generally behave well, as long as you don't leave them to their own devices. But I'd appreciate any tips or words of encouragement for both me and them!

Try not to worry. Easier said than done, I know. You'll be so busy with the wedding, that you won't have a ton of free time to worry about what's going on at home. I'm sure your mom will do fine. At least it's a short trip. You'll be home before you know it. Enjoy this time alone with your husband. Who knows when you'll get to do it again? A few drinks always helps too:)

I one hundred percent agree with the PP. DH and I have had a few mini-overnight getaways since our kiddos were born and they have been amazing! It's so special to have time to just be together and zero in on each other and your surroundings without distraction. Remind yourself that your babies are in the best hands, have some cocktails, dance and have FUN!

    DITTO!

It is good for them to get some time with the grandparent and you and DH need quality alone time as well. I am sure your mom will do just fine with them...she might be tired by the end, but she will be fine.....and I am sure the girls will throughly enjoy grandma time as well.

Relax (easier said than done), have fun & enjoy!!
