my LOs nap from about 10-11 in the am. (i guess they aren't ready for 1 nap afterall, LOL!) :headbang:
anyway. when they wake up i like to get out of the house, and get outside with them. we often go to the park and go on the swings or go for walks.
they eat lunch before their 2:00 nap usually (but haven't been falling asleep right away at 2 like in the past). i always did a bottle around noon and i think i am trying to drop it but am worried to since being outside and drinking our bottles has become a routine.

i guess what im asking is if i could just give them juice and a snack in their stroller and head out the door (in which case i need some finger-food snack ideas...my kids live on puffs and cheerios)
    OR
if i should make an on-the-go type lunch like a grilled cheese sandwich and give it to them on the go.

then perhaps a snack before naptime?

If it were me, I would give them a big breakfast first thing when they woke up, a small snack in the stroller, then a big lunch before nap.

You can bring baggies of quartered grapes/cherries/blueberries, watermelon bits, etc. plus snacktraps of Cheerios/puffs/Goldfish, and a thermos of cold milk for their sippies. They should be good to go until lunch! :good:

I'd let them practice at home when they're in the kitchen and you can sweep up the mess. ;) They'll figure out pretty quickly where the num-nums come from. :D

I did, but my guys were super skinny, so I was trying to get as many calories in them as possible. If you're just transitioning to milk and they aren't drinking really well, you could offer at every meal and snack just to reinforce the idea. If they're gung-ho about their milk at meals, you can just do water or juice. My guys have gained well since 12 months, so I give them diluted juice for at least 1 snack per day to forestall poop problems.

the snack traps i have for the girls have handles so i use those plastic links to make a chain to attach them to the stroller - then they can throw them all they want, but i don't have to worry about losing them or picking them up! :good:

i also second everything Valerie said.
