Identical or Not

Our boys are 3.5 months old and we don't know if they are identical or not. They have the same color hair and eyes. Conor (On the right in most pictures) is about 1 - 2 pounds heavier than Owen their lengths are within 1/2 inch and head circumference is within 1/2 centimeter.

I would like your professional opinion as the mothers of twins !!

I would say identical - I can't tell the difference! Do they have the same blood type? If you really want to know you might have to do some testing - I would just out of curiosity. They are very cute!!

 

I am planning to ask the doctor about their blood type at the next appointment.

 

Oh so CUTE! I'd say ID too I know what you're going through, it's hard when everyone is telling you they're id and you see their differences!

 

I'm voting ID too. We just went through the same thing and broke down and did the DNA test. I know it may seem like a waste of money, but I was SOOO happy to know for sure. It seems like most of the time the moms are the ones who are skeptical and think the twins are fraternal when everyone else says ID - and they usually turn out to be ID. If you want a fun test, take the boys' faces and just select their eyes, nose and mouth. Then put one face over the other in a photo program. Many times the genetic features will line up with ID twins. I thought our boys looked a bit different until I did this test - and then realized that their faces were exactly the same and the reaason they looked different to me was only due to weight difference (which they don't have anymore).

 

They look ID to me!

But what I know for certain is that they are both identically adorable!! :wub:

oh my yes...identical!

isn't it amazing (someone else mentioned this too I think) how the mum's if ID's have no clue and doubt it, yet when we see others we automatically 'know'?? I am the same way with my Duo. I still wonder at times!!

Same thing here, we finally did a DNA test and I'm so glad we did. I also cropped the boys' noses and eyes and had my family try and guess who was who, that was a laugh.

I totally think ID for your boys and soooo cute!

 

I would say identical, but only a DNA test could tell you for sure. I've known alot of ferternal twins to look alike as babies & young children, then different as they age.

I'm 100% that's amazing with the layering! I wanna do it with my boys now. What program did you use to layer?

 

Totally ID and super cute! The layering of the pic is really quite amazing!

 

A guy I know has a program called GIMP which is a free version of Photoshop. He used a tool to select just Owens face then he pasted it over Conors and set the Opacity of the pasted image to 50% and dragged it around until their eyes lined up. When the rest of their features lined up I couldn't believe how much alike they are.
