We're going to start potty training in about 2 weeks when we return from our trip to Michigan. How many pairs of panties should I have for each girl? I'm expecting A LOT of accidents in the first few days.

We have about 15-20 pair each, which I know is a lot. But I figured we'd need a lot those few days!

I think I started out with ~10 pairs of underwear for each kid. They didn't actually start using it for a while, though - once we started PTing, they just wanted to run around naked from the waist down all the time!

I think I have about 10 pair for my DD, and when I'm ready with the boys, I'll probably have about as many. My DD actually had few potty accidents, but pooped in them everyday.

I had about 10 pairs each too, but that included the coveted reward pairs of hello kitty undies. So really only 5 each and that was plenty.

I'm starting this too... and have 8 or 10 pairs each. I'm also just letting them go naked most of the day, so that cuts down on needing new udies... but also means the puddles are bigger! I even got peed on today! gotta love it.

with Abby started out with about 7-10 and then let her pick out some new ones once she was established...with Ian I had 2 pair of several diff kinds (briefs, boxers and boxer briefs) and once he decided what he liked the best (boxer briefs) I got him more...right now they have about 14 pair each (enough for 2 weeks in case for some reason I couldn't do laundry)...

I went nuts and bought 20 pairs each LOL but only needed the one pair per day, maybe 2, tops! We have enough now where they play the "make piles" game and sort them and make piles in their room of just their underwear. LOL!

    GL!

I just thought all the underwear out there was SOOO cute, so my boys have a LOT. Plus, in those 7 packs, we'd get quite a few where the band would start to fray & I'd have to toss them. Aiden also quickly outgrew the 2T/3T, so then I had to go buy 4T...which are now all mixed in the drawer. He still gravitates towards some of the 2T ones that look ridiculously small on him, but he's adamant he wear them (and the 4T ones sag off Conner's tushie!).

However, in the actual beginning, I'd say we had 2 of those 7-8 packs. I quickly realized I needed more (for Conner more than Aiden), so I bought a few more 3 packs. Now we're like Meredith...WAY too many undies (I can't resist when I see more cute ones, like the 3 pack of Toy Story ones I bought 2 days ago). However, I can go a LONG time without doing their laundry (they have entirely too much clothing), so when the undies start to run low, I know it's no good ;)!

Good luck with your training...I hope it goes super easy for you!

Side Note: On the topic of cute undies, Conner ran around yesterday telling EVERYONE that he had a Woody on his undies! However, when he'd say it fast, it sounded like Woody IN his undies. Oh boy. Thankfully, he would also SHOW a lot of people & then people realized it was just Woody from Toy Story! I think that Disney should only make Buzz undies because really...WOODY on undies? That's just asking for jokes....

that reminds me of the time Ian had Spongebob on his underwear and proceeded to drop trou to show my mom!

Thanks, everyone. I bought 10 pairs for each girl. I was just going to get a 7 pack for each and then I worried it wasn't enough, so I bought another 3 pack for each girl. We're going to start training when we get back from Michigan around the 16th. I hope they are super excited about their new Elmo undies. :) They love Elmo.
