Anyone else have this?

I started with a painful rash yesterday on the underside of my right breast. Didn't think anything of it since I had been out in the heat last weekend but today it was worse and all blistered. I called the doctor after noticing a red streak going from the rash area up across my breast. They had me come in and the doctor's exact words were "oh wow, that's shingles." He explained it all to me, gave me a prescription for Valtrex and said we would folllow up with my regular appointment in 2 weeks. Has anyone else had this? I'm so worried about it spreading to other "parts" of my body. He did say that once it was gone I most likely wouldn't have any issues with it again other than the pain, which could last for months. UGH!

 

I've heard that shingles (thank you chicken pox/varicella!) is very painful. I am so sorry!!

 

I've had shingles twice so far in my life. They hurt and are gross but do go away with time. Usually you don't get them more than once, I guess I was lucky. Hang in there they will pass they normally don't spread too much further than their local area.

Update on the shingles......I took the Valtrex that the OB prescribed me and the breakout cleared up very quickly. The strange thing is that my headaches disapeared at the same time! It may just be coincidental but I had read that a symptom of shingles is bad headaches and can start weeks and weeks before the outbreak actually occurs. I am FINALLY starting to feel a little more human just in time for my belly to take off. 16 weeks today!!!!
