My new favorite dumb comment

Ok, so this weekend the in-laws were in town and we went to breakfast. We got there and Caroline filled a diaper on the drive so I stayed behind to change her in the car. I was walking in with my FIL and two older ladies were fawning over her. Well she's adorable, so I get that. Then my FIL says something to them about her twin brother that's inside already. One of the ladies is talking to him about the grandbabies etc when the other says, "Oh, I thought you meant she hadn't delivered him yet."

Ok...I get that there are rare cases of twins being born on different days for medical reasons. But...my babies are EIGHT MONTHS OLD!!!! :laughing:

i never realized how many people totally misunderstand the concept of twins until i had my own. i mean, i always understood what twins were. it's not a difficult concept! :crazy:

We were at a birthday party one time and this woman was there with her newborn. Her stomach hadn't softened at all yet, and she still looked 9 months pregnant. Her baby was only a few days old. My FIL asked if she was having twins and just hadn't delivered the other one yet - b/c I'm sure that if that was the case they'd let her out of the hospital to go to a birthday party!

 

That's great!! People really don't understand, do they?? Haha!!

I still have to giggle at one of my Mom's co-workers: when DD was walking, we were trying to encourage DS to do so, so we would practice with him. My mom mentioned this to one of her co-workers who said, "Why would they do that? Isn't having twins hard enough...one walking is bad enough, why have the other one walk?" Um, well I could keep him in my purse I guess :unsure: My mom was stunned!

 

people are :crazy: i even had another twin parent ask me this weekend if my b/g twins were identical after finding out they were b/g, i mean hello???

I know right, people crack me up. The reason I was offended is because she thought that I looked that pregnant! (Especially b/c I've lost all my pg weight.) :headbang:
