Anybody have this carseat?

I'm thinking of getting this for Blake when he outgrows his infant seat and wondered if anybody had one and what they thought of it. Thanks!

I don't. My only advice is to make sure whatever car seat you get doesn't stop at 40 inches/40lbs. In my case, I had to buy ANOTHER car seat when my LO hit 40 inches but not 40 lbs - so annoying!

I have had the State Police (on more than one occasion) HIGHLY recommend this seat.....and say what a great seat it is, and that she wishes all children would have such a safe seat.

 

how does it rate for safety? have you checked any safety ratings sites?

i recommend checking consumer reports before making a decision. we bought a pair for each car and went with different brands. we have cosco sceneras in DH's car. they're only $60 each but they actually have the best ratings on consumer reports for safety. my only complaint is that the strap tightening system is a little difficult to manage but for the price and the safety rating we like them lots.

for my car, where we do most of our driving, we opted for safety ratings and features. spent quite a bit more and got the evenflo triumph advance dlx car seats. rates as one of the top models on consumer reports for safety and i have to say the strap tightening mechanism is totally worth the extra money if you can swing it.

The Nautilus is great... except it is forward facing ONLY! I agree with the PP who stated get one which goes above 40 lbs!

 

The weight limit is 65lbs and height is 50" the newer version looks like an awesome seat. It has excellent reviews and got a perfect 5 for ease of use by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I would love to get that seat but I'm going to have to convince DH to spend that much, not that he isn't concerned about safety, but we live on an island so we don't spend near as much time in our car as most from the lower 48 do. It would probably make more sense to get a more affordable carseat..

That car seat you linked looks like a good one to me too, but I'm not an expert.
