Does anyone plan to cloth diaper their twins? Or for those of you that are already twin mommies - did you use cloth diapers? I have used cloth off/on for the last couple of years with my three. I really like using them and even though it adds laundry feel it's easier. No worries about running out of diapers. I have a decent stash built up and for the twins really only need to buy a few new covers to go with some of my diapers. Everyone already thinks I'm crazy for using cloth and even crazier to think I will be able to keep up with twins. I plan to use disposables the first couple months and then switching. Really if I get a routine down I can wash them like I do the other clothes. Just wondering if I am the only one.

You may want to check with the women in the first year forum; I think there are a lot of successful cloth diaper users. And don't worry if people think you're crazy! Just do what works for you. We practice EC, which everyone REALLY thinks it's crazy. :)

I cloth diaper my twins - it works for us and I sort of feel like supermom when I tell people I have twins and I also cloth diaper! HAHA!

I have to admit I feel that way too sometimes and that is a small part of why I like doing it. There are three parts for me....the cost savings, the environmental part, and then my ego! lol

We do it. DH is all about cloth, so we have a service. Honestly, I think I could handle the laundry. I do a baby load every other day, anyway, so I'd just do it after that load. It's not crazy- I get more weird looks for breastfeeding than about cloth, honestly.

Ithink if you've done it before you are well aware of the work involved. Whether they are in cloth or disposables, you still have to change 2 kids.

    Good luck!

We're a cloth diapering family too and love it. We wash about every other day, but it's not really that bad. When I think about how much money we're saving, it makes it all worth it! And, I agree, it's an ego boost when people find out I bf and cloth diaper and want to know how I do it .

we cloth diaper & i love it! whenever someone comments on the environmental factor, all i can think about is all the money we're saving. :D i do a load of diapers every other day and it's not a big deal at all. i'm hoping to get a clothes line hung this summer so i can hang them to dry to save a bit more too. we did use a service for the first 6 months or so - at that time, for me, anything extra would have felt like too much. but by six months i felt i was able to handle it & we switched to our own.

i'll admit it, i kind of like the supermom vibes too.

i love cloth. used it on my first two and can't wait to do it for the twins. I am having a blast putting together the babies' stash. So far I have 24 fitteds/aios/pockets/ and 1 prefold. I need to get more obviously, but its fun and I really love it.

I don't love that I will have 4 in diapers, but oh well.

It's totally do-able. I waited until my babes were 5 months before switching to cloth, because I wasn't sure what kind of time and energy I would have. But I think I could have easily done cloth from birth.

For me, the hardest part was figuring out what I needed, ordering, prepping and organizing. But you're already there. So go for it!

The laundry isn't a big deal at all. I like it, because I have a full load every couple days. So clean dipes.

Good luck with those little ones!

I remember how confusing and overwhelmed I was when I first started buying my cloth diapers. There is so much information out there. The first few days of using them I had complete buyers remorse. Now I am so much more comfortable with it. I am thinking of buying some AIOs for the girls. I haven't ever bought sized diapers so that's all new to me but it isn't as overwhelming as when I first started with cloth!

We are planning on cloth diapering the girls when they are born. But then we've been cloth diapering since my first son was born 4 years ago. So we're old pros at it.

I'm a first time mom but we'd like to give cloth diapering a try. I plan to use disposables at first, in order to preserve my sanity and those first few months as a new mom with twins and the 500 other things I'll be trying to learn and do at the same time. We have registered for cloth diapers though and hope to switch by the time they are a few months old and we've got a better handle on things.

I don't have AIOs but do want to buy some. I am going to wait until after the girls are born to buy them though. I do have BumGenius 3.0 which are the pocket One size diapers and while I like them they are not my favorite. I don't like stuffing the liners in them. I have heard the AIO take forever to dry but I plan on washiing at night and putting them over a drying rack overnight and then finish drying them in the dryer in the morning.

Cool. There is some people on Ebay from China a think, who sells AIO really cheap, but the feedback is really good. I'm not sure, I was going disposables, until I realised how many I'd need in just one WEEK!! LOL

I stuff pocket diapers while breastfeeding...it took me a while to figure out the best routine for my DD, but I mostly use prefolds during the day or shorter night stints and pockets (fuzzi bunz) for going out and with extra stuffing for the longer night sleep (7 hr).

For the newborn stage we are planning on using preemie prefolds and preemie covers. Then when they reach 6-7 lbs they will go into extra small Bum Genius AIOs until they reach about 12 lbs. From there we will be going into BumGenius FLIP system which are OS.

You already got a ton of replies, but I just wanted to add that I LOVE my bum genius one size pockets - they unsnap to grow with the babies so we've been using the same ones since they were 2 months old. Love love love 'em! I wash them every other day and it's really not that big of a hassle and it saved us a ton of money, especially now with baby #3 on the way! Time to snap some of them back to the tiny size again :) If you've already been doing it, it won't be any big deal to do it with twins. Just a bigger load of laundry!

I just started cloth diapering my little guys about a month ago. I wish I had started from the beginning!! It's actually very easy and to me the laundry isn't that bad. I only have 24 Bumgenius 3.0's and I only do laundry every other day. I usually try to start the washing process (rinse cold, then wash hot) before they go to bed and then the drying process right before they go to bed. That way they are just finished drying about the time they get in bed and I can stuff them as I watch tv.

I have the BumGenius 3.0 One Size diapers now. I have twelve that I use for my youngest daughter. It really isn't that bad but I just really don't like stuffing. I want to get some of the Bum Genius AIOs to use too. I would use both but it would be nice to not have to stuff those inserts.
