RESCUE ME

New season of Rescue Me premieres June 29th! Tommy and gang will be back in action. Who else is as excited as me?

 

I am :banana: but we just discovered it a few weeks ago. We've been streaming the first two seasons over Netflix, trying to catch up. It's a GREAT show!! DH and I both really like it. I have no idea how we missed it all these years!

Same here! We are in the middle of Season 2.

I'm excited for the new season, too! Even though I didn't like last seasons'story lines (sorry MamaKim, but I just couldn't get into it), I have high hopes for RM redemption! LOL.

 

No apologies, Katheryn! :lol: Last season was not my favorite either but I so love the characters on this show. I am looking forward to more of their drama and antics.

 

The commercials for the show make it look like it'll be a great season :clapping: .

I've now gotten my SIL hooked on this show. She is desperately trying to catch up before the new season.

I CANNOT WAIT!! (And I am yelling, lol!)

 

There is a nice little review of Rescue Me in this week's Entertainment Weekly. I am glad I saw it and saw this thread because I kept telling DH that Rescue Me doesn't start until August :wacko: Can't wait to catch up with Tommy & the gang.

Is this the last season?

 

No unless things have changed since I last read about it. The last season is supposed to end coinciding with the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Did people watch? I tried to but things were slightly chaotic at my house. I wasn't able to give it my full attention. I will have to re-watch.

 

I did watch tonight...I was a bit confused by the end and wondering where did Tommy get the bottle? Not surprised that Colleen has taken up the Gavin family "hobby"

I did love Teddy's line "Our family is so dysfunctional we make the Jacksons look like the g.d. Osmonds.."

I watched it and thought it was a pretty good beginning. It left me wanting more so that's a good sign :lol: .

 

We re-watched. I agree this looks to be a promising season! :good:

Uncle Teddy is a riot. Actually one of the things that makes me love this show so much is the casting. All the characters are just so spot on. And funny! :rofl:

Now for the bizarre and strange. I had a dream the other night that Lou and I had another baby, a boy, and we named him Sean Thomas (never mind we already have a Sean Patrick). We decided to call him Tommy. Think I'm obsessed with this show? :lol:

DH and I watched. It was sort of depressing. So everyone hates Tommy now? I realized I must have missed some of last season b/c I know I didn't see Tommy get shot or Teddy's wife die in a wreck!

 

Did anyone watch last night? I recorded since I was at the ADAM LAMBERT concert :girl_devil: but am wondering how it was!!

 

It was good. I liked it better than the first one. I love how Tommy is jealous of Franco and Janet, that is cracking me up. :laughing: I don't think anything has happened yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did in the future!

Also, I was wondering if with all the puking if Colleen might be pregnant? Or if it's just from all the drinking.

 

Is it wrong of me to love Dark Tommy more than Reformed Tommy?

 

I am not loving this season yet. A little boring. Maybe they are just warming us up. Interesting thought about her being pregnant!

I like the dark Tommy too! Although I was talking to the tv as he went to take the sip right at the end of the show. I was all, "Nooooooo Tommy"!

I miss the music at the end too as they show the final scenes.

 

I liked this week's episode better then last weeks.
Count me as another one, who at the end, was going: "NOOOO Tommy!" But all of the grief he was getting from Janet, Sheila, Colleen, Katie, the guys at the firehouse and the rest of his family...I don't blame him!
Aimee, I wondered if Colleen was pregnant too.
The Franco and Janet storyline cracks me up, Franco is so HOT, I can see why Tommy would be very concerned and alarmed about their relationship.
I loved Mikey saying that they have to help Tommy avoid h*ll and get him an exorcism :rofl:

 

I agree - slow start to the season. But I often feel that way about this show. They are setting us up for what is to come!! Franco is smokin' hot!! I just love the characters, though. :laughing:

I know it's bad but I actually want Tommy to drink because he's so much more fun as a drunk! :rofl:

 

Is Tommy back on the job now? B/c I noticed he rode with them to that last job and then once they were there he was told he was sitting that one out. You'd think he'd need a lot of time off after being shot.

 

Not yet, I think they were doing him a solid because of his nephew (Damon, Damian?) but they reminded him he had to sit this one out. I think in the first episode he checked out of the hospital earlier against medical advice. It looks like from next weeks promo he is back on the job.

 

At the beginning of this week's episode he said the dr told him one more week before he could return to work.

 

Gah, I fell asleep and woke up to see Lieu (Lou?)/Kenny lying on the ground in the firehouse!! What happened? Did he have a heart attack?

 

We don't know, but the foreshadowing throughout the episode suggests heart attack. Low energy, feeling that he might have pulled a muscle. Plus, they've been referencing his eating much more this season, so I suspected something like this was coming. He looked disturbingly realistically dead.

However, what I disliked is that they were all getting pizza after a day with 35 calls and Damien comes in and says, "I think there's something wrong with Lou." (I'm going with that spelling for simplicity.) Really? He's a trained paramedic and he didn't take his pulse, start CPR and call the others for help? I realize the build-up is more shocking if they make some joke about, "What, did he lose his appetite?" before they find him like that, but points off for having Damien act like a confused kid rather than the trained rescue dude he is.

 

I missed that part. I'll re-watch with DH tomorrow night when he comes home. But that does seem strange and not very realistic.

 

Kim, it ended where they found Lieu. I agree with Ruby, Damian doesn't bother to do CPR? Seriously? And no one picked up that anything was wrong with him prior to that, when Tommy had to run that underground rescue and Lieu was sitting it out hunched over, claiming he pulled a muscle? No one told him to get it checked out?

I still find Tommy's confusion over Janet and Franco to be hysterical. I think Sheila is going to have accept the fact Damian not only wants to be a firefighter but might actually be good at it.
I also like Sean and Mikey's attempts to be good people :laughing:

 

Things are finally heating up!! Nest week's episode looks like a good one. Dark Tommy is so much more fun, albeit more destructive. And I like Sean's focus on the firefighters with post-9/11 illnesses. Great story line.

How funny was the exchange between Black Shawn and Franco about who would make the better doctor? :rofl: "Tommy: Franco, talk white for us. Franco: It's easy. I just squeeze my butt cheeks together and think about egg salad sandwiches." :lol:
