how much soapy water do you think they can ingest?

We have always had different types of cups as part of our bath toys. Typically they just dump water from cup to cup, but lately we've been letting them practice drinking out of regular cups at lunch and dinner (just few sips because they love it) and tonight...they decided to use their bath cups to drink out of. Yuck! I'm sure they swallow water anyway and I know baby soaps are nontoxic, but they were going nuts filling up these little cups (with holes in the bottom, luckily!) and trying to take a few swigs before the water drained out! How gross do you think that is, relatively speaking? They love playing with cups so I hate to take them out of circulation, but how much bath water do I really want them drinking before bed (or any other time :bad?

 

my girls have been doing this for a while now. <_< i don't love it but it doesn't seem to be hurting them so i let it go. the thing is, even if we took the cups away, they'd drink the water anyway - they love lying down on their tummies & drinking it. ardon:

 

Mine are doing the EXACT same thing! I'm with Rachel--can't be that harmful

 

Mine do this too, although I notice a lot of it is pretending to drink and letting most of it run out of their mouths and seeing if it will get a reaction out of us. Not crazy about it either, but in the overall scheme of things I don't get too het up about it. Anyway, it's pretty mild compared to the chunk of dirt I had to dig out of one boy's mouth this morning. He had it all packed away in his cheek like a chimpmunk. Ay yi yi!

 

ITA! My guys do this a lot, but they mostly let the water run out of their mouths. It's not the most savory of habits, but they can do a LOT worse. Today I found a piece of dog kibble in Jack's mouth. <_<
