We can't dry bottles on the counter cause we have a misbehaving kitty. Where do you put your bottles to dry. Right now, I put them in a cabinet, face up, but I'm thinking having them dry upside down is just better isn't it? I don't think a bottle drying rack will fit in the cabinet, so any creative ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can you put a towel in the cabinet and then put the bottles face down? Then the extra water would drain out and be absorbed by the towel.

Okay I am the ultimate lazy mom, or maybe I'm just a genius for making this so easy. ;) I washed my bottles in the dishwasher, and then I just never unloaded the dishwasher. Every time I needed a bottle I got a clean one out of the dishwasher and then put the dirty ones in the sink. I re-loaded the dishwasher every night before I went to bed.

I'm similar to AimeeT. I run the dishwasher once. Once the DW is done... I take bottles out and make them all at once - I don't dry them before making them.

I have a naughty kitty cat too and we put the bottles to dry upside down on paper towel in a large bowl. I also attach a hair elastic around the cabinet handles because our intrepid cat has been known to jump on the counter when we're sleeping and open the cabinet doors. He loves all things plastic and it's a treasure trove of nipples, pacifiers, and Dr. Brown's bottle parts in there!

Dishwasher here too, and then made up a day's worth of bottles at a time. So the bottles were always either in the dishwasher or the fridge.

I think they were mostly dry when the dishwasher was done (because we ran it on "sanitize"), but I doubt we dried them any further.

For some reason we try to only run our dishwasher every 2-3 days, and we only rarely wash our bottles in the d/w because apparently Playtex Vent Aire bottles are known for their ounce markings to wash off in d/w. So 95% of the time we wash our bottles by hand, which really isn't that big of a deal to us. We have a plastic bin that we place the dirty bottles and then we use that bin to wash them. And after they are washed we place the bottles on this mat to dry. It's a waffle weave mat and we got it from Bed, Bath, and Beyond and we love it! Every once in a while I throw it in the washing machine, but we have never had a problem with it getting moldy. We live it on our counter top but it would easily work in our cabinets, if we had inquisitive kitties (we have kitties, they're just too fat and lazy to care!)

I never dried bottles. Sometimes I used them right out of the dishwasher, sometimes I had to wash two from the pile so they could eat! A few extra drops of water in the bottle won't hurt anything.

We have our bottles drying upside down on a towel in our cabinet (crazy toddler gets into everything!)

I use the dishwasher almost daily and leave them in it till they are dry.

We also have a munchkin drying rack tha works great. http://www.munchkin.com/products/detail.html?section=prodCategories&ID=10019&pID=287
It has a drip tray edge so water doesn't run everywhere. I've taken the whole thing(bottles and all)and just sat in the empty bottle cabinent when I needed counter space

I did the Munchkin rack too. It is fairly narrow and small. They stack nice on there. The other option would be to wash and then immediately make formula. Since your are old enough they are putting everything in their mouth already ??? So I"m guessing you are no longer sterilizing bottles right ?

Hey, I'm Meredith too! (same spelling even :)) And I agree!!

    Uhhhh???

Why do they have to be dry??

    Never knew that.

Anyway. I learn something new here everyday. Luckily I never knew you needed to boil water for formula and dry your bottles. I wouldn't have done it anyway but it's nice to be in the dark. We're almost 3 and still okay ;)

    I don't think I'm lazy :) GL!

This is what I did, mainly because I hate having things on my kitchen counter. I just lined the cabinet with a clean towel & put the bottles in upside down. Then I changed the towel once a week or so, it was easy & kept the bottles out of my way.

Thanks for the great ideas. I will try them out and see what ends up working most efficiently for us. Thanks :)

Ours go from the dw to the drawer whether they're completely dry or not. We have a shallow, long junk drawer that is used only for "kid" stuff (sippies, bottles, bowls, etc.).

Saw this while out shopping this weekend: http://www.amazon.com/Boon-Grass-Countertop-Drying-Green/dp/B0032G9E0G pretty sure it would fit in most cabinets.
