I dress my girls the same. Probably to a fault. As soon as they are old enough to pick out their own clothes, I will let them. For now, this is the one time that I have full control over what they wear and I think it's cute. It also means I only have to pick out one outfit per day. It works for us, but others have different thoughts. I think you should do what you like, or are comfortable with.

I have b/g twins, but when they were babies, I coordinated their outfits all the time. (The Children's Place was for those kind of outfits!) Now, I dress my boys in the same shirts when we go out...makes it easier to spot them in a crowd if they are wandering. Unfortunately, I can't find clothes to match Meggie to them...and she makes all the decisions on what she is wearing. :D

I always dressed my girls in the same type clothes, different colors. Now that they are old enough, I let them choose. Whatever you decide to do, they will look adorable. Just from experience, though, it seems that when people bought my girls clothes in the beginning they were always either identical or coordinating. I still buy things coordinating if I can, but they don't always wear them at the same time unless I pick out their clothes to wear.

I usually do just bc all the "cute" stuff I want them to wear I want them to wear together:) Otherwise if something is cute and comes in different colors then I will get different colors and they wear the coordinating shirts/outfits on the same day. I think its cute and right now I can control it....I know in a couple years it won't be this way;)

i have identical girls so it doesn't really answer your question but i did swear up, down, left, right & centre when i was pregnant that i would do no such thing as cheesy as dress them the same. that was the first (and last) preemptive parenting pronoucement i have made since it went out the window faster than you can say boo as soon as the girls came home. i dress them either exactly the same or in similar but different coloured outfits every.single.day. and will do it as long as they let me get away with it!

I don't dress mine alike. My three boys have a couple of pairs of matching pajamas and they all have the same spring jacket in different colours. But that's the extent of it.

Sure you can dress them identically! I think identical twins are their own people, too- they just happen to share some genetic material. It's cute to dress them alike and from a safety perspective (when they are 1-5ish- as long as they don't mind) I think I'm going to prefer it. How many times can a parent say that their kid is missing, but THIS is exactly what he/she was wearing and possibly what he/she looks like?

People always try to tell you that you can't dress them identically. I think it's one of the perks of twins. They don't have the extra poopy diaper to change or 2 babies teething at the same time- if dressing them identically puts a smile on your face, DO IT!

My exact thoughts!! Honestly, it is just easier for me now and they also argue if they don't have on the same thing. :catfight:

I don't dress mine alike, but if they would prefer to dress alike when they are old enough to pick their own clothing, then I will buy them some matching outfits.

I always dress mine the same or coordinating. I hate the few outfits we have that don't have anything that matches it, so they never wear them cause it drives me crazy. I don't want one boy to have a "cuter" outfit than the other on that day.

I usually dress them in the same type of things - can't stand to have one in sweats and the other in jean, same with shirts. I do like to dress them matching for church or specially occasions though. Although if I find a good deal on an item - (like $1.50 for Carter's shirt) I'll buy two.

If I had same sex fraternals I would not dress them the same, but I would probably dress them in coordinating colors/design.

I never dressed mine much alike, other than to put them in roughly the same type of outfit -- both in jeans, or both in dresses, or whatever. I'm not even sure why I did that, but it did seem cute to me. I never wanted them to be dressed exactly alike, though -- partly because they were in daycare and I wanted it to be immediately clear to all their teachers who was who.

Also, nearly all our clothes were hand-me-downs, so we didn't have very many identical items in the same size.

It actually seems weird, thinking back on it, that I used to do even that much, since it's been years now since I had any control over what they wear! Other than special occasions like Christmas, or basic weather-appropriateness, they've been wearing whatever they want since about 24 months. And it turns out that they have VERY different preferences.

I have some coodinating and matching outfits, but I have so much clothes from my DS and hand-me-downs from friends that they will most likely not be matching very often.

Our haven't arrived yet, but we have very few matching clothes on purpose. We just aren't in to it. I think my husband was too traumatized by having to dress like his siblings growing up!

I usually dress mine in same outfit different color. The only things that they have the same are gifts or something I loved and could not find a coordinating one. People tend to buy matching unless they ask you first. My sisters asked me what I planned to do. His family just buys them the same. I say do whatever you are comfortable with. Matching is cute I think. I am a spaz about them being their own person. But, it won't affect them until they can tell you otherwise and they will.

I was never very into dressing the girls identically, they would most often be coordinating. Occasionally they would be totally matching. Now however.... :unknw: it totally depends on the day, and the girls moods. They've been very vocal about what they want to wear for the past 6 months or so. Some days they dress nothing the same, other days, identical down to the socks!

No, although in the two yrs they've been around it has happened. For the most part I stick to similar clothing, same t-shirt, different color that sort of thing. They boys are so opposite that dressing them alike looks forced.
