gift ideas for 8 year old girl

    My DD is having her birthday party in two weeks - where does the time go? Does anyone have any suggestions for gifts that their 8 year olds love? I am starting to run out of ideas and there is still a lot of people who will be asking me - so far, I have said book series for third/fourth graders(she is an advanced reader), diary, clothing, and gift cards. Any game suggestions? She also wants the game Traffic Rush.

    A game we got at Christmas is Apples to Apples Jr. It is for 9+, but she may enjoy it. What about Arts and crafts? Knitting or needlepoint type of things. If into sports, inline skates or a scooter. The Klutz book on skipping rope is also very popular.

    I am going to my friends's DD's 8th birthday party this wkend & I asked her daughter today what she wanted. She said a Tiana (from The Princess & the Frog) doll. Her mom told me they ahve them at Target.

    Does she have a DS? My kids also like the game Apples to Apples too.

    What about some silly bandz? Or anything from the brand Alex Toys are great for 8 yr olds. A gift card to Justice? Borders or barnes/noble has some of those great craft kids. Here is a link to the alex toys.

    Cassie just got some bracelets from her cousin for her 8th birthday- they are plastic and when you take them off they look like different animals. She got them at Justice. Cassie got a ton of clothes from Justice too, along with a gift card.

    She still likes Webkinz and also got a beading set to make her own jewelry.

    She also used some of her gift cards on Zhu-Zhu pets - she didn't have any before, so she bought them herself.

    My 7 yr. old loves anything arts and crafts. She recently got a kids' origami kit and she loves it. Girls her age (at least in her classes) love to give and get girly stuff like nail stuff, lip gloss, purses, etc. They are still into Webkinz a bit too, but I see that as getting a bit old pretty soon. Games and books are always a good bet too.
