We had our level 2 ultrasound today and had it confirmed that the twins are Mono/Di and they are GIRLS!!! We are over the moon.

Doctor is a bit concerned because Baby a is measuring about 9 days behind Baby B so we will be monitored very closely.

I've been trying to find information on Mono/Di twins and average age at delivery but am not having much luck.

Congrats on the 2 girls! There was a post by another member in the expecting forums that has a link in regards to mono/di twins - perhaps that will give you some good information.

We also MAY be have mono/di twins and its been so hard to find info, I did post some stuff in the expecting forum under "fraternal or identical" alot of what I have found is from medical dictionaries or med terminonolgy which just makes more work to find out what the heck they are talking about but please post what info you find I would love to hear it.

That's one way I'm lucky. I'm a nurse so the medical terminology doesn't trip me up too much :) I got a lot of my information thus far about Mono/Di twins either from the books on twins I've bought or from my perinatologist. I'm trying hard not to read too much into the complications that can arise due to the mono/di status as I don't need MORE to worry myself over LOL

What I've been able to find so far on delivery is kind of conflicting. But most everything I've read said that Mono/Di twins deliver on average about a week earlier than Di/Di twins. One study said delivering before 37 weeks is recommended. One said not until after 37 weeks if possible.

I'll be talking with both my OB and Peri the next time I go. OB appt is on Wednesday and Peri appointment is a week from Tuesday. And if they have anything to say on the matter I'll definitely share what they say :)

Congratulations! I am also pregnant with mono/di twins and just found out we are having boys. One of my babies is also behind the other in growth so we are going to be carefully monitored from here on out. Wishing you the best for your pregnancy and your little girls. :)
