Stuck up little guys

Well my babies are almost 3 months old.......& they where born at 36 weeks I'm not sure if that really makes a difference but I thought I should put that in there. So they make eye contact, smile & coo but most of the time they seem to be off in a daze somewhere, gazing at the lights, fans, or even the glare on the wall. Just wondering if anyone remembers if their little guys did this to. I can't seem to remember if my first one did this as much as my new ones. So I have stuck up little guys! What the?! Thanks ladies!

 

I think my guys were doing the same as yours. They were born at 36 weeks and it seemed like forever before they started getting very social.

 

My two are doing the same. They will look at you for a second but they would rater look at the light, ceiling fan, etc. Little Leah seems to focus more than Ryan but she hits her milestones before him (mostly).

 

I think that's normal. There are so many new things to see & learn that they do seem to spend a lot of time looking around at that age!

 

Recently we got a card from our optomotrist which showed what babies can see at various ages. At 3 months things are still fairly blurry, which surprised me. What my guys liked were books and baby toys that were black, white and red as those are the colors they can see best.

 

Totally agree. Our babies LOVED the toys in this gift set that a friend got us. They were the few things that could get their attention for a while, and they still sometimes play with the panda rattle and caterpillar (which squeaks when you squeeze its tail). They loved the caterpillar so much that we bought a second one.

 

Ahh, yes, the ABC123 book! We found 1 at a consignment store & they adore it. The specific books I bought & they still love are: THIS, which is great because on the back it shows the order of the pictures so you can identify them without seeing the page (USEFUL with twins) and THIS. Since we've been reading to them for so long, they love it still.
