Is there a too old for 2 naps?

My guys are 18 months this week and are still on a pretty solid 2 naps. Anyone else's take this long to drop to 1? We have tried just 1 and they do ok, but their nap is only about 1 hour!! So, we end up with crabby babies. With 2 naps, they sleep 3.5-4 hours total. I'm not complaining about the 2 naps, just curious how common it is. At night they sleep 11.5 hours or so usually (In bed around 7-7:30 and up around 6:30-7). Thanks!

 

Mine dropped to one nap around 15-16 months on their own. I would say if yours are still happy with the two naps, I would still have them take two naps. They will drop to one when they are ready.

 

I agree they will drop one when they are ready, and if they are happy, and you are happy, that's all that matters!

 

Mine are about to turn 15 months and although I've been trying to go down to one nap I don't think they're ready. They still take two as long as I don't let them sleep longer than one hour in the morning.

I'm with everyone else, as long as everyone is happy, all is good. :good: Mine stopped two naps at 18 months but they were definitely done with two.

 

Mine are 17 months and not nearly ready for just one nap yet. One of my friends who has 4yr old twin boys says hers had 2 naps until well over 2! I agree go with what feels right for your family!

 

Mine will be 17 months next week and still take 2 good naps a day. The only time they don't is when they go to daycare (just go for hourly care when I have DR appts) and those days they are super crabby. I'm definitely enjoying the 2 naps especially with a newborn so I'm not in any hurry to drop it.

 

Mine were close to 20 months when we finally went to 1 nap so I agree with everyone else! I promise they will let you know when they are ready for one, enjoy the two naps!
