Update to the carseat!

I posted a little while back about what carseat to get my boys HERE.

Well Friday night DH and I went to BRU. We had gotten a 20% off coupon for ONE item. They also had a deal going of $10 off for every $50 you spend. Well, dh wanted the $60 ones. And well-seeing how we will be driving five + hours this summer, I wanted a comfortable one for the boys. Not to mention-it's the only carseat they will use. DH looked at the various ones that were there, and eventually said no to the cheaper versions-they just didn't look comfortable at all. Then we came to an Eddie Bauer one that was $120 and the Graco which was $180. I liked the style of the Graco. DH compared the two, and ended up liking the Graco and bells and whistles. :laughing: I was fine with the Eddie Bauer one, really! LOL!

So we decided on the $179.99 Graco Nautilus(which was highly recommended by all of you lovely ladies! And lo and behold-sold out! The only other one they had was the Nautilus Elite which was $199.99. The Assistant Manager said there were no more in stock and they wouldn't get anymore til at least May. DH being the bargainer that he is-asked if we could get it for the $179.99 price of the one out of stock.

Manager said yes! Then we asked about combining the two coupons, as well as the twin discount..and he said he would help ring us out to see if it all worked out. To make a long story short...

We got the $199.99 carseat with the twin discount...marked down to $179.99 because the one we wanted was out of stock...plus 20% off the ONE carseat, plus $60 off for every $50 we spent...

So-our $400 carseats ended up costing $244 with tax! $122/per carseat! SCORE! So-moral of story-it doesn't hurt to ask! And the 20% coupon DIDN'T work with the other coupon-but the manager overrode it. :banana: :woohoo: I left with a VERY happy dh! And I got what I want! :angel:

Wow that is great! I just ordered the same ones for Cameron and Corey from Amazaon at $145.00 each free shipping/no tax. I was so proud of myself but you did much better!

Great deal! My DH is a bargainer too and I'm learning by his example. The worst they can do is say no, so why not ask?
