I see that the Superyard XT does not have a gate, so that means I will have to step over it, sometimes while carrying a baby. It is 26" high. Has this been a problem for other short ladies? I'm 5'1" and just concerned it may be too tall for me to step over it comfortably. I would like to get this because the price is nice, but if it won't work I will have to get something more expensive with a gate. Thanks.

I have this play yard and it works GREAT! I am 5'4 and can climb over it and out of it just fine! In fact, we like it so much we're getting a second one (as soon as we can afford it!) to make it a much larger safe play area for the girls now that they are mobile!

I'm 5'4" and I didn't have much trouble with it, but I did try to avoid actually holding a baby while stepping over it. I would usually lean over and set the baby down on the other side first. Just didn't want to take chances.

We have two of these and this is how I do it. My twins are getting heavy and I've almost tripped a few times going over the side. Now I just pick them up after I'm outside of the playpen.

Betha: Do they try to crawl away while you are doing this?

yeah, I would recommend being able to steady yourself... I'm tall, and sometimes I'd find myself tripping...

For our main area at home, I do, though have the metal fence w/the gate, and the gate is really nice! That's the best $130 I spent! We've used it for 18 mo. already and its not coming down anytime soon...

I have this strung out across my dining room opening, and I can step over it with a baby if I need to. Mostly I too either set them down on the other side, or step over and then pick them up from the other side. I am 5'4". Love mine, our opening isn't suitable for a stationary gate (the walls don't line up) so this worked fantastic.

Mine don't move away from the side when I come to get them. They would much rather be OUT of the play yard and going somewhere with Mommy. Even before they could walk, they would hang on the side and want me to get them out.
