For the past several days my boys have been showing tired signs an hour or less after wake up time. Today they were up at 6:45 and by 7:45 were fussy and putting their heads down. I put them down and they're not sleeping yet, but resting and reading in their cribs.

They slept for about 40 minutes yesterday morning after resting for 20+ minutes and then took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. Bedtime is typically 6:30pm.

What do you make of this, did anyone's LOs go thru a phase like this?

    Are they teething right now?

I feel like they're always teething.. but, yeah, I know Michael is cutting a tooth.

That could be making them extra sleepy and also they could be going through a growth spurt.

My guys definitely go through phases when they act tired an hour or so after waking up. I figure they're working on a milestone that's wearing them out, or they might be fighting off an illness. It usually doesn't last more than a day or so.

Are they on 1 or 2 naps per day normally? If they're still on 2 naps, and this morning sleepiness would make a 3rd nap, I would probably try and keep them up, or just give them books and quiet things to play with so they don't fight their regular morning nap. If they're on 1 nap, maybe they need to go back to 2 naps for a bit! :)

Are they on one nap? I tried to switch my two to one nap a day and they did the same thing yours are doing. I moved back to two naps a day and they're doing much better.
