i left my LOs to nap today and they whined a bit but fell asleep in about 30 mins. they tend to re-wake and need to be soothed back.
how long do i leave them? when one wakes and screams, he always wakes his brother.

At 10 mos old, I left them for 90 minutes. They could sleep, play, cry, whatever they wanted but they were in their cribs for 90 min twice a day.

they do a 45min to 1 hour nap in the morning. this 2:00 nap USED to be 2 hours...lately, one has been waking early, and always waking his brother. it's always someone different, too and then i have two screaming kids. great idea about the 90 minutes. i will try it today, thank you.

No problem! I figured if they wanted to scream at each other then go for it! LOL They eventually learned to sleep through each other or lay there and play until it was time to get up.

that was really my question. how 'long' to leave them. i wasn't sure if 2 hours was unreasonable if it was their 'big' nap. i will do 90 mins for now. so far they've been down 1 hour and 15 mins!

is that 90 minutes of total crib time or just 90 minutes of total sleep time.
if they took 30 mins to fall asleep, do i count that time as well?

I did no more than two hours total time. So say their normal am naptime was 9 am but they didn't fall asleep til 10. I still got them up at 11 to eat on time. And in the pm they went down at 1 and up at 3 to eat on time. If they fell right asleep at 9 am and were awake before 10:30, they waited til 10:30 to get up. But if they were still asleep at 10:30 I'd give them a bit longer. I hope that helps!
