    Hi mommies,

One of my twins hates everything that have to do with lentils. Do your babies like to eat lentils? if so, appreciate any recipes ideas. Lentils are filled with proteins and nutrients and I so much want them to eat it at least once a week.

Thanks a bunch for your advices.

They didn't start eating beans/lentils until recently when they got their molars. I don't really have a problem with them eating things as long as it has some seasoning, butter, or something on it other than plain.

Eleanor and Ethan like this lentil recipe. I will also put lentils in soup sometimes.

My guys used to like the Earth's Best lentil dinner baby food, and currently LOVE the crushed lentil soup from our local Middle Eastern restaurant. I've never tried to serve them regular cooked lentils, because this isn't something I make a lot for ourselves.

HERE is a recipe for crushed lentil soup that looks a lot like the kind we get at restaurants. I've never tried to make it at home, so I don't know if this is exactly the same, but the stuff at the Middle Eastern place is fabulous!!

:thanks: all for your recipes and input.

it's kind of funny "Nate & Jack's Mom" that you're referring me to a Lebanese recipe, being myself Lebanese. It's great that your kids eat onion and garlic. By the way, onion and garlic are very nutritious, but so far my kids don't like them.

"Twin Nanny" your recipe give me an idea to try.

"Rebekah J": lentils mixed with plain yogurt! Is it something easy to digest! I wonder but since both are nutritious, I might pretty well try this as well!

"Mom2Sadie&Elena" Beans! my pedi told me not before 3 years old because it's difficult to digest!

My boys love Lebanese food! But so do their Mama and Dada so it's no surprise. :) You might try the soup recipe with more limited amounts of onion and garlic to get them used to the taste, then increase gradually.

You don't want to overload them with tons of fiber but some beans are certainly okay. Yogurt helps with digestion too. My boys really like black-eyed peas with a little garlic salt.

My kids have never had lentils, but they have had beans since they were about 9 months old. It was an early finger food for them. They love them and have never had digestive issues with beans. I am always trying to find high fiber foods for them.

mine love lentils. though I don't do a whole lot with them... just cook a bag from the store, and possibly add some leeks or something to it while cooking. I'm really glad they like them plain... there's enough time for later on when they will only want to eat stuff that's been seasoned etc. Usually I'll cook the whole bag up and then freeze into large cubes what I don't use so that I'll have lentils w/o all the sodium from the cans to use later.

Thanks!! As always Twinstuff community has always provided great help whenever needed!! I really appreciate a lot your valuable input and have bought yesterday red lentils to try today for the kids, and would love to cook for the beans as well. However, I just wonder which kind of beans your babies prefer, is it fresh, red or white?

By the way I read that too much fiber forbid their little tummies from absorbing nutrients from other food. However as you said "Rebekah J" little beans won't be bad at all especially that they are very nutritious.

    Thanks again.
