This may be a silly question...
So I signed up to bring sandwiches to my girls' Easter party on Thursday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are really hectic days for me so I told DH to pick up some sandwich things while he was at the store today. We only eat wheat bread at home so naturally he bought wheat w/o thinking about it. Will this be OK? I know a lot of kids eat white bread but I don't think 2 year olds (and a bit younger) will really care. My girls will eat just about any bread you put in front of them. The only restriction I was told of was no peanut butter. I think I'm worrying about this too much.

btw, I have Easter cookie cutters to make the sandwiches more "festive" :)

Mine eat wheat bread mostly. They don't think anything of it. The only bread I think they might not eat is pumpernickel or rye. I think more kids are probably anti-crust rather than the "color" of the bread. That's actually one thing my kids are not picky about (bread and crusts). It sounds like a fun time. I'm sure the kids will love them.

I've never had a problem taking sandwiches to school on whole wheat bread, but then white bread is really not that common around here anymore. :pardon: I would just take them & hope for the best!

I wouldn't worry. We only eat wheat.

    The kids probably won't care.

My girls eat wheat or oatmeal bread. They wouldn't notice a different type of bread though unless it was pumpernickel.

My kids don't eat white bread. They eat wheat, oatmeal or 12 grain bread. They have eaten pumpernickel (they loved it with cream cheese from 18 months to about 3) but not rye.

ETA: I think they liked the pumpernickely because they thought it was chocolate [IMG] .

 Mine thought it was chocolate too until they tasted it! They spit it out and now call it "Mommy's book club bread" (because I served it once at book club of course).

Mine don't eat white either unless someone else brings sandwiches on white bread. I don't think they really care either way.

My girls (still) don't like bread with any noticeable seeds in it. Other than that, we're mostly wheat around here and always have been.

I don't know that mine really even know what white bread is. I think a lot of parents today feed their kids wheat bread.

lol, I mentioned it to their teacher today and she said wheat is fine. In fact, she is on some kind of wheat bread diet, lol.

Just curious but what are you putting in the sandwiches? I'm looking for ideas since my kids are so picky and usually take it apart and not eat them.

We just put turkey and cheese on these per suggestion of the teacher. My girls like peanut butter and jelly too. They usually dissect them before they eat any sandwich.
