This morning as I was watching yet another Elmo dvd, I got to thinking about how many Dorothy's there have been over the years. :unknw: I imagine it's a lot.

Then my mind wandered over to Mr. Noodle. Who is he and what does he really look like. So I googled him and he's imho, a very handsome man. :FIFblush: His real name is Bill Irwin and has had a long work history in tv and on stage.

    Mr. Noodle

    Bill Irwin

Anyone else want to share their random thoughts while being at home?

LOL! I have to say that as Mr. Noodle that guy looks pretty goofy. I've never seen Mr. Noodle before. The DVD mine are begging me to watch 24/7 right now is Here Comes Peter Cottontail The Movie. There's this part at the end where the winter queen yells on and on about Fluffy that makes me want to scratch my eyes out.

    Keeping with the tv theme...

I wish someone would make a spin-off show of Handy Manny getting together with Kelly from the hardware store. "You always have what I need Kelly!"

ps. of course it would be adults only!

My kids have seen Elmo once and they think that MR. Noodle is a "scary guy" and make me fast forward past him. LOL.

Th original Mr. Noodle was played by Michael Jeter of Evening Shade fame. It took me a while to figure that out and why Mr. Noodle sometimes looked different.

Right now my thought is what kind of subliminal messages are contained in the Super WHY tv show on PBS because my two are totally obsessed with it.

I have no idea who Mr. Noodle is?? :pardon:

I want to know why Little Bear is always running naked, but his parents and everyone else in that show gets clothes??

Also, where are Max and Ruby's parents?? :umm:

I wondered the same about Little Bear. I am convinced that Max and Ruby's parents met a horrible accident designed by Ruby. Ruby is part of my axis of evil (Ruby, Ming Ming from the Wonder Pets and Stompy from Ni Hao Ki Lan)... kids TV characters I cannot stand. DH did look up Max and Ruby and apparently the author of the Max & Ruby books wanted to show that kids could solve problems w/out adults hence no parents for Max & Ruby but a Grandma. Makes no sense to me.
My BF's husband has a theory about Dora and her friends that made me feel better about all the time I have on my hands

Mr. Noodle is a bit creepy and I'm not sure I would want him anywhere near my kids.

Ruby is awful bossy and is given far too much responsibility.

Why does Rosie have a head full of hair and Caillou is completely bald?

Does Dora have mob connections (come on, Benny the Bull, that's right out of the Sopranos or Good Fellas)?

Why is Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger) in every Pixar movie?

I sing the song from Peep in the Big Wide World all the time. I can't get it out of my head. "Well, it's a sunny day, I feel brand new..."

Why is the Man in the Yellow Hat allowed to let his monkey roam the city streets alone?

Read this out loud to my DH. We were both

Totally agree. Every time I see him I think he looks like a child molester.

You know who else is uber creepy is Sporticus (sp?) on Lazytown. That whole show creeps me out, but him especially!!

:good: None of my kids watch that show, but I know who you are talking about and I totally agree. Who thinks up these people?

On the no pants thing...why is Donald Duck the only one that doesn't wear pants, yet when he showers he wears a towel around his waist?

    Kyrstyn, I agree about Lazytown.

And why do all the Fresh Beats have a mini-me?

:gah: That whole show is freaky and I don't like it at all!! :escape:

Who thought the name Toot and Puddle was catchy? :umm:

  15. Kyrstyn

Excellent point. I never thought of that before!

I was wondering that as well! Apparently they were cool enough to get an entire name change, then their own show so maybe the "Mini-Me's" are the next logical step???

I am convinced that the people that think of these kids shows are on some good drugs. They have to be, there is no other explanation.

And the ones on some serious drugs created BooBah and the Teletubbies. :D

for the OP: i remember watching a sesame street episode in college, and dorothy actually died and elmo cried(13 years ago lol)... so now i watch and wonder, did he get a new goldfish and name her dorothy, too?

mr. noodle was on an episode of the cosby show... he's very talented!

the episode of blues clues where steve leaves for college gets me choked up

the episode of Lil Bill where he is reading a book about a mailman's "big, heavy sack" makes dh and me chuckle every time

the choreography on Backyardigans is pretty amazing! and to make the dances match the theme of the music for each episode is really cool

i told dh that before, and he rolled his eyes at me lol too bad i didn't know about this show back in my "days" lol

What's the Dora theory? My husband's theory is that she is terminally ill and severly medicated, hence all the fabulous adventures.

Can I add my random thoughts? I'm sitting at work listening to the YoGabbaGabba soundtrack and realized that I'm just as much of a kid as my two kids are. And I thought Mr. Noodle was played by a girl until about 6 months ago.

I also love the music from Yo Gabba Gabba. Not really a thought, just a realization that I'm not all there anymore. :hush:

Yo Gabba Gabba has a music CD? No one tell my kids. :hush:

Oh and when I said something about Robby Rotten to DH today, he informed me that you can see Sporticus' package too. So apparently he was looking closer than I was.

OK. So dh and I were once debating if Mr. Noodle was a female as well.... If I looked long enough, he started to look like a she. Thank goodness for wikipedia!

-I still can't figure out YoGabbaGabba.
-Along with the Curious George question-since when do people have pet monkey's who EVERYONE loves in the town?
-I don't think Curious George is as curious as he was when I was growing up...
-What's with Baby Bear and his lisp-or whatever the heck it is. His talking drives me CRAZY!

OMG  I agree with Ruby and Ming Ming (but I kind of respect her snarky side), but whats wrong with Stompy?! For me its Tole that grates on my nerves. He is one anxious little koala with a serious panda obsession.

Oh and this a random thought from DH. He actually started a conversation by asking me this question a couple days ago "If everyone in Nowhere land is in Maggie's imagination, then why does stuff happen there when she isn't around?" I think we seriously need to cancel our cable or at least turn Nick Jr. off for awhile.

Ok, I'm not a sahm, but...
I totally agree that writers for some of these shows must be smoking something... especially yo gabba gabba. My girls love it but it is pretty weird...

I've always wondered about naked little bear too.. and the fact that his animal friends who he plays with seem to live by themselves yet they play with a child bear? And why do they have human friends?
Ruby gets on my nerves. So does the koala on Ni Hao Kailan (sp??).
I've only seen one complete episode of Lazy Town and it's too weird for me to watch again.
Exactly how old are Toot and Puddle and where do they get all this money to travel the world?

I like your DH's theory Bex!

BF's husband's theory is that Dora really runs narcotics for her parents (hence why we barely see them and who would suspect an innocent 5 yr old girl)...Benny, Boots & Tico are her bodyguards and Swiper is really the DEA.

Mr. Noodle does have a sister, I think she was played by Kristen Chenowith. I watch way too much Sesame Street!

Actually he has 2 sisters. And there are a couple episodes with both Mr. Noodles...Mr. Noodle and his brother, Mr. Noodle.

OMG, I forgot about the brother and the other sister...way too confusing!

The show was created by the guy who plays Sporticus!

When DH was deployed we went through a big time Lazytown phase. At one point I knew my DH had been gone too long when I had a very interesting dream about Robbie Rotten! I told my poor husband and he cut me off from Lazytown. Now when I see it I still cannot watch the show without going "hmmmmmm".
