had to go to l&d today

My ob sent me to L&D today for the minor drops of blood and the cervical pain. I ended up having a yeast infection, was placed on pelvic rest for the next 2-3 weeks and according to the dr who did the pelvic exam inner os was closed, outer os was dilated and I was 30% effaced. The cervical u/s showed that my cervix was 4.9cm long though.......how is it possible to be 30% effaced and that long. I am soooo happy i am not on bed rest and it was nothing serious.

Whew! Glad everything is okay. That is one awesome cervical length, way to go!! I can't answer your question about effacement, though. I'm curious too.

 

Hmm, that does seem odd to be 30% effaced and still have a nice long cervix like that. :umm: Did you OB seem concerned about that at all? I'm glad it was nothing serious. :hug:

 

my ob wasn't there, but he did tell the dr at l&d to put me on pelvic rest until my next appt (april 6th) and to have me call him in the morning. I really assume that he wasn't concerned since I wasn't contracting and stuff. I am wondering if maybe its all related to the yeast infection?
