we are not napping for our normal lengths in this house! no one is!! they generally get atleast 1.5 - 2 hours in the afternoon and i can BARELY get them to go for 45 mins!! they are fussy, moaning, groaning...etc.
i know they could be teething; i give them motrin and teething tablets, too.

could they be hungry? they eat 6 oz every 3 hours (5 bottles a day).

any suggestions? i HOPE this is just a phase because i am becoming DRAINED!

How long are they sleeping at night and how long are they sleeping in the morning? If they are taking a long morning nap, they may not need a long afternoon nap. It could also be teething. Does the Motrin seem to help them sleep better?

They sleep anywhere from 11 - 12 hours at night

their morning nap could be anywhere from 30 mins - 1 hour.

they've always done an hour in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. i give them motrin right before their naps, so i dont know what else i can do. i also do teething tablets.

I think I remember some sleep regression/fighting/changing around 9 months old. If they are learning new skills it can also affect their sleep. Just keep doing what their normal routine is, and hang in there, they'll probably settle back into a "new" routine before too long!

I agree with everything Danielle said. Our boys are also fighting naps and have had very erratic naps for what seems like a month or more now (especially Brandon). Occasionally he'll nap for 90-120 minutes, but the norm lately has been 30-45 min naps, and it sucks. But it is what it is. I know he has been trying to learn to crawl for 2 weeks now, and many times when he wakes from a nap (or occasionally in the middle of the night, grr) I'll find him up on all fours rocking back and forth. So I am just chalking all of this up to a phase and not stressing out about it. Granted, I know it sucks when they don't sleep/nap very long. But I also think you need to accept that what they once did (ex. nap for 2 hours) may not always be the norm. I do hope they at least get on a predictable pattern soon (and the same for my boys!). GL!
