yogurt question

we tried yogurt tonight (yo baby with sweet potato and apple) and the kids went NUTS over it. they each had their own cup of it.
they have never had 'dairy' before; we attempted milk formula once and they had some stool changes but it could have been related to being sick as well.
since it was their first time having dairy, would i be able to see if they would have an issue with it right away? (i.e. mucous in their stool, etc?)

also, is this an ok yogurt to give them? i wanted to just give them plain, full fat, greek yogurt but this looked very yummy, lol!

 

Yo Baby should be okay to give them, I started yogurt around 9 months and Yo Baby was the first brand we gave (they did not have the fruit/veggie mix at that time). If they do have a problem with dairy, I would think it would show up in a couple days. Good luck!

 

I agree with Nancy. As with most other new foods for them, you really have to give it a few days to see if there will be any reactions. Hopefully, they will be fine with it. And we started with Yo Baby as well.

 

Now, do I need to continuously give them the yogurt (today, tomorrow, etc.) to see if there are any reactions or would they come up from yesterday's dinner?

 

Yes, we did the 4 day wait rule. Fed them the same thing 4 days in a row to see if a reaction would show up. GL!

 

perfect; i'll feed them yogurt for lunch and then grab some more. i'll attempt it at every lunch this week.
sometimes they aren't as interested in lunch as they are dinner though. hm...maybe i should just give it to them at dinner? does the amount i give them matter?

 

No, the amount doesn't matter so much, just that they have been exposed for a few days in a row.
