Okay so this is somewhat (okay REALLY) embarrassing to admit. And my DH seems to think it's the funniest thing in the world despite my evil eye and haughty stare. But I am really having a problem keeping my pee in! Anybody else have this?

I always read about it during my first pregnancy with my singleton and heard that yeah it happens and yeah it's normal. But I never actually experienced it until this pregnancy and just in the last week or so. It seems to leak out anytime I pick up something remotely hefty (ie a garbage bag, my DS, a laundry hamper) and also at the usual sneezing, coughing, bending over.

At first I thought, "oh okay, minor annoyance" but now I'm having a lot of itching *down there* and it's turned into "OMG MAJOR ANNOYANCE!!!!". I'm wondering if the itching has to do with the constant leak of urine? I've broken into my DS stash of baby wipes to clean up down there to keep it all tidy but I can only do so much.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

Yes, you are not the only one leaking! I never leaked urine during my first two pregnancies but I have been during this one probably since at least 20 weeks. I go to the bathroom and then guaranteed to leak a little more 5 minutes or so after I already go and it happens just throughout the day for no reason. I'm getting used to it but now that I'm getting farther along, I get paranoid that I'm leaking fluids.

The itching may be caused by a minor external yeast infection that developed due to the moisture. If you're comfortable with natural remedies, then wipe plain yogurt on the area when you are in the shower (but not yet under the water). Leave it on for a minute or two and then rinse. I know it sounds odd, but it works to reduce the yeast. And it doesn't do any harm if yeast isn't the culprit.

And you can always discuss with your OB or nurse or midwife.

    Good luck.

Edited to emphasize that it should be PLAIN yogurt, not the sugary flavored yogurt.

    You're not alone!
I have done since 20 weeks, and usually wear a light liner and/or change undies 2-3 times a day.
i also have itching and find that I can go to the toilet and feel like I need to go again 2 minutes later!

Glad to know I'm not the only one! :D I can only imagine what the next few months will bring as the pressure in there builds!
