3D ultrasound

My husband and I want to do these pictures on Sunday, which means I will be 28 weeks. Do you think the pictures will be good enough? Do you think the babies will be plump enough? I don't want to go and the babies are so squished that we can't see them much. When did you do them, if you did?

We haven't officially done a 3D ultrasound yet but the tech at our Peri's office did a quick one for us since it's all on the same machine. She did it for us at 19 weeks and we go some really sweet face shots of the babies. Of course their faces hadn't fully filled out yet, but there was enough fat there for us to see the basic features. We'll have another one done around 28 to 30 weeks probably.

 

My OB's office can do them at any visit really--we've had them done at each visit from 20 weeks+. The problem is that every time, one of the babies decides not to cooperate! We just had our 28 week visit and their faces are pretty well filled out but our boy was totally turned away and wouldn't turn back. The girl had her face turned to us but she was completely smashed up against the placenta so her nose was completely flattened! It was kind of funny but didn't make for the best photo....
Anyway, at 28 weeks you should be fine but the kids might not *want* their photos taken!

 

My peri's office did them and we got one sweet pic of my baby B but none of A. She never cooperated for any ultrasound (hmmmm... now that I think about it that is exactly her personality now at 3yrs LOL!) I was 19 weeks when we got the sweet pic of Ava - but after that mine were positioned in such a manner that either their faces were squished or there was a sweet little foot in the way! Good luck I hope you can get some really great pictures!!!

 

we did ours every time we go to the high risk doc so i have had 3d images since i was 16 weeks I am not 29 weeks! They come out great every time! You are at a good point to do them. Mine look better and better every time. IN the beg. they were frail because their fat hat not started to build up, but it has started at this point! So you should be able to get wonderful pictures!! Its amazing how much you really can see!

 

They say best time is between 28-32wks if I recall or it might be 26-32wks. Either way you are great. That makes the perfect time because they have enough fat to define the features of the face, but not to big yet. I had some 4D pics done of my last pregnancy around 27wks. They turned out wonderful. It was so funny cause it looked just like my husbands dad almost eeire.
I have another u/s next week at the OB's office so I will ask her to let me view in 4D to get a good pic again.

I was almost 31 weeks when I had my 3D u/s. I was told that they like to see twins by 28 weeks because they are running out of room and the pictures don't always come out that great. The u/s tech said they'd give me a full refund if they couldn't get any decent shots but I was very lucky and got some amazing pictures of my boys. Good luck- it's a lot of fun to have this done!

 

I had a 3d ultrasound of my oldest taken when I was 28 weeks and they turned out great! I have also already heard that with twins you should do it earlier so you can be sure to get good shots! If you want them, I would do them now!!

I also had 3d ultrasounds every month with my peri while pregnant with the twins and I think the last time I got really good face shots was around 24 weeks! They just got so big that we could not see anything after that.

It is amazing when I look back at all my 3d images, the boys really look like they do now. I always thought that was so crazy!
