Well there are plenty of threads on TS that I might not find interesting, I just don't see what the point is in saying so in the thread. It's pretty rude to the OP, who obviously does find it interesting.

Others are enjoying the conversation, so I am not sure why coming in to say one isn't interested or is bored by the thread is of any value.

Very well said Cristina, and thank you. I found the comments unnecessary. :( Why do that?? :umm:

Personally, I find this thread very interesting because I learned something new. Ecologically speaking, I think milk in a bag sounds like a great thing and I'm wondering why a.) I've never heard of it before and b.)why US suppliers don't try this packaging.

Thank you Cristina. If you aren't interested, no one is forcing you to read it (AND spend time replying).

What are we going to do tonight, Brain?

The same thing we do every night: go and insult threads about milk!

Sean keeps the single serving milk in the aseptic packaging in his dorm room in case he wants a bowl of cereal in the morning instead of running out to the cafeteria. He says they are fine.

I wondered what in the heck Catsip was though!

I had the same questions Kim. With all the milk we buy between me, DH and the kids, our fridge would have a lot more room if milk was sold in a bag!

Funny, I thought these types of pile-ups were frowned upon[IMG]

Wow...I didn't know milk came in a bag for anyone either! I think its interesting. I love hearing about stuff like this. Sometimes its easier to assume everyone does stuff the same. Thanks for sharing!

Count me as another that had no idea milk was sold in bags.
I would love the option to have both! It would be easier to store multiple bags of milk, yet I think it would be easier if onnce the bag was open you could put it in the jug. I think it would be easier to poor and such.

A lot of people saying "that was rude" is hardly a pile up.

Really, I thought a lot of people repeating the same basic opinion WAS a pile-up[IMG]

Pile-up - like multiple people making the same rude comment to begin with? :)

How convenient to simply dismiss a POV as a "pile-up." Ad hominem, anyone?

Well if that were true, that would be probably the vast majority of threads on TS. :pardon:

What does milk come in in the USA?

It comes in plastic bottles here and cartons for the long life stuff.

This is a picture of a bottle of our milk. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/01/30/article-1132745-033F6D87000005DC-719_233x289.jpg

I used to LOVE milk in glass bottle. We used to get it delivered from the milk man and it always had a lovely head of cream floating on the top of the milk Hmmmm yum.
    Supermarkets ruined the glass bottle.

I remember my brother (he used to love in Canada) having bags of orange juice in his freezer and I thought that was a great idea.
Milk tasted fine to me out of the bags. I thought bagged milk was a great idea too.

I buy milk either in glass bottles (local organic dairy), plastic gallon jugs, or half-gallon cartons. It tastes best, imo, in the glass. However, as someone else mentioned, I would love to be able to buy in bags and stack in the fridge or freezer. Seems like such a great idea.

I have never heard of milk in a bag personally. this thread makes me very nostalgic from when I was a kid. We actually had milk delivered to us by milkman. We had a small gray metal box by our back door and we left our empty glass milk bottles in it and he would pick them up when he dropped off the new ones. I remember loving the first milk from the bottles...so fresh! It was so comforting. Thanks Kendra for that long lost memory!!!

Then I guess we can consider your and Jennifer's expression of the same opinion as Kelly a pile up too?
Then again, everyone conversing in any thread who express the same opinion as another is a pile up... Hmmmm

I also agree that if you don't find a thread interesting why read past the first page and why take the time to actually post?
I am so sorry that some are unable to understand and appreciate diversity and that everyone is different and just because you (the general you) don't find something interesting that doesn't mean others won't find interest or reason to enjoy the same thing you don't care about. I love learning new things and appreciate that on TS so many have different opinions and POV's.

[IMG] that's what I've always thought, but then I really wonder where all the pile-up complaints come from. I guess it's based on who is agreeing...

Where in this thread did I express the same opinion as Kelly or Jennifer? Read it again, I didn't.

I think we both know it isn't a matter of where the complaints are coming from, but a matter of the context of said "pile up".

Bwahahaha... some of the responses in this thread are cracking me up! Thank goodness those bags of milk weren't wearing prom dresses or we'd be in a huge heap of trouble.

I've always thought that learning about other cultures was interesting. Small mundane things like milk and shopping carts are no less interesting to me than major things like wars or wedding customs. Maybe those of you who found this topic boring can counteract the boredom by starting a thread on something you find interesting? TS is what you make it.

Now.. slightly more on topic... we also got milk delivered in reusable bottles when I was younger. It was great!

I was not aware milk was sold in bags either. I can't say I've ever noticed a difference in the container it came in though. I am a bit of a milk snob and only prefer Horizon Organic milk. But to me, it tastes the same from the carton of a plastic gallon jug. Maybe I should pay closer attention next time I switched containers.

My grandmother (who lives in England) still gets her milk delivered that way (including the cream at the top).

Ditto this. I have never heard of milk in a bag....I am sure it feels sort of odd. Does it taste as good as milk in a glass container?

I find cultural differences interesting. :)

We had it as kids, the dairy was a few streets away. And I also had a milkman for a while after Liam was born. It helped me get through the week without bringing two 2 year olds and an infant to the supermarket. The chocolate milk in the glass bottle was the best!!!

I am in Ontario and love my bagged milk - but I had no idea it was a novelty!! I thought they had them everywhere. I found a great site that explains the wonders of milk bags for the uninitiated: Milk Bags V.20

I want to try some milk in a bag! We travel with the little boxes of milk that don't have to be kept cold. Girls think its okay. On a off note I'm addicted to Mexican CocaCola
