3 yr. old boy doesn't want to kiss mommy

    My DS turned 3 in November and he all of a sudden doesn't want to kiss mommy. This really hurts my feelings because at the same moment he will give my husband a kiss but not me. It's like pulling teeth to even get him to kiss me on the cheek. Is this normal? It really makes me sad and I even cried this morning! Just looking for some advice. Thanks!

    Yes, my boys are very selective with their kisses. Sometimes I get one and somedays I dont. :(

    My DS is not a big kisser. Sometimes he'll sort of turn toward you and bump heads with you, but he's just not into it. I think it's just him. (He loves hugs, though.)

    One of my boys is exactly like Holly's son. The other one will hug and kiss all day long. My guess is that if he knows you want one, he might also be trying to push your buttons by withholding. Just a thought. I can relate - when my non-kissy DS refuses, it does make me a little sad, but it also makes the kisses he does give me extra sweet! :wub:

    My 4yo DS hasn't kissed me in well over 6 months. It honestly breaks my heart and I have cried about it many times. The only person he will kiss is DH. When he first stopped it was like a game. The more I asked, the more he refused. I used to kiss him and he'd wipe it off. About 4 months ago I completely stopped kissing him and asked DH not to "make" him kiss me anymore. I had hoped that by ignoring it, he might forget the "game" and start kissing me again. But, even though the game is gone he still doesn't kiss me. Every night I say prayers with him and hug him good night and have to make myself not kiss him. It hurts too much to see him wipe it off.

    He is very loving in other ways and likes to cuddle. He just doesn't want anyone but Daddy kissing him. It hurts to see him kiss his daddy several times a day, but never kiss me. But, I'm not sure what to do about it. So, I don't have any advice. But, I do understand how much it hurts. :hug:

    Stacy A, mine wipes them off too. Forgot to mention that earlier. It drives me crazy. Hugs to you too!
