oh my goodness. I wonder if she knew she was pregnant?

    from the story
Full term. Does that mean 40 weeks? I know that women have given birth not knowing they were pregnant with singletons and even twins but full term triplets. It is hard for me to believe she, herself did not know she was carrying them. What a tragedy. My heart goes out to her 6 year old son, 2 year old daughter other family and loved ones.

That is sad. But how can one not know that someone is pregnant with 'full-term' triplets?!

 That is very, very sad.

BTW, the article said that the parents didn't know their daughter was pregnant with triplets. Perhaps the woman hid the pregnancy from her parents? :pardon:

How on Earth do you hide a full term triplet pregnancy? I was big as my house with twins! I wonder if she had even been to the dr? this is so sad

ITA with all of these!! I was HUGE with the twins! And I only made it to 33 weeks!! How on earth could she be "full term" with triplets...even if they are calling "full term" 30 weeks...and it NOT be noticed?!?!? :unknw: :nea:

This is very sad and my heart breaks for this family!! She was very young and I cannot imagine what her parents are going thru right now!!

HERE is the full story BTW!

There has to be more to that story.
    How devastating.

I really don't understand how someone can hide a triplet pregnancy, though. Especially considering that was her third pregancy.

    Wow.

I think the reporter, and the police spokesperson probably don't have any idea what full term with triplets would actually be.

I wonder if she was overwhelmed or depressed or having some kind of other problem and tried to hide the pregnancy because of that.

You would still think that no matter what her problems were she would seek medical attention if she thought she was in labor!!

Crazy me I started to read some of the reader comments. A "twin Mom" commented and what she wrote is annoying
I will sum it up to not infringe on the copy write.
I went to 35+ with my uncomplicated triplet pregnancy. My friend went into 35 weeks as well. Her pregnancy went well but the babies needed medical intervention afterwards. Mine spent 9 and 11 days in hospital. I am not rare.

Also my three babies born at the same time are not "super twins" I ARE triplets.

I just had to share that that bugged me

What a sad, sad story. I am curious about how many weeks she actually was. I also find it hard to believe she could be anywhere near even 30 weeks and it not be obvious she was pregnant.

Well, the article says that they didn't know she was pregnant with TRIPLETS.... SO, maybe they knew she was PREGNANT - just didn't know it was triplets??? And for that reason, maybe she had actually not been to the Dr. yet??? Or, if she HAD been to the Dr. already, maybe she hadn't had an ultrasound done yet so they had no reason to believe she was pregnant with triplets?? It sounds like they may have been identical triplets (all boys). I know just becuase they were all boys doesn't in and of itself mean they were ID, I'm just playing devil's advocate here....

Especially if she didn't do Fertility treatments, and if she had a history of wacky cycles (like I do, I went 9+months w/o a period before I got pregnant with my son by surprise) maybe the Dr. just 'assumed' she was farther along than she really was, basing off of what SHE thought her LMP dates were, and the size that her stomach was measuring.

This could also be where the reporters got their information about being 'full term'. Maybe they all *thought* she was full term becuase of what she measured and how she looked, but with ONE baby, thus the reporters *assumed* that she was then considered full term even with triplets.....

See, our problem here at twinstuff is that we know to much!! LOL :) We all think this story is so fishy and suspect becuase of all the information we already know about multiple pregnancies, but to the unsuspecting, naive reporter and reader, this story may actually make perfect sense....

It'll be interesting to follow this and see what the investigation and autopsies reveal.

At any rate, it's a very, very sad story. :(

    No the article says:
AT ALL!! They did not know she was pregnant AT ALL. No one...including her boyfriend...the father of her 2 children...knew she was pregnant AT ALL! Much less with triplets!!

That happened here in CT not far from me. I was shocked when I read the story!! Something is missing here - I don't understand how no one could have known she was pregnant! It really doesn't make any sense...

Perhaps she didn't have a relationship with her family? Not unheard of.

How awful though. :( I wonder what was going on in her life that she didn't reach out for help, at least medical help, before delivering?

that is just so sad.I got to thinking maybe they were planning on an unassisted home delivery and maybe she wasn't recieving any or not very good prenatal care and was unaware she was pregnant with triplets.Maybe thats why the family is not giving any details or playing it off as if they didn't know because it went wrong and 4 lives were lost.Thats just my thoughts on it

VERY awful and sad. on the other hand, it's just more evidence for my belief why deliveries (ESP complicated deliveries) shouldn't happen at home, (if they did actually die during/from delivery). sorry for stirring up drama. just had to add my point.

I found this on a local news site, it provides a little more explanation but is still hard to believe:

Hope had two other children with her husband; a 6-year-old boy and a 2-year-old daughter, who was the only other person in the home. That child was found in a crib in the bedroom where Hope's body was found.

Hope's parents said they didn't know she was pregnant and may have tried to hide the pregnancy, as she did with the pregnancy of her 2-year-old daughter. At that time, no one knew she was pregnant until she was on the way to the hospital to give birth.

Hope's parents said they noticed their daughter had gained weight, but Hope blamed it on a cyst on her ovary. Police said there was no cyst and the medical condition was made up.

According to police, several people they spoke with including Hope's boyfriend Ricky, said they suspected Hope was pregnant, but she denied it.

One neighbor said, "They are a lovely family, and we are grieving for them."

A preliminary report from the medical examiner said Hope died from blood loss and the babies are being classified as stillborn deaths.
