A year ago today we brought our boys home from the hospital - I really can't believe how quickly time has gone by!!

Just a little introduction as we move into the second year. My name is Jen, DH is Bryan. We have a 4yr old girl Danika and 12mos old boys Owen & Rhys. They were born at 37wks 3days by c/s. We just had a 12mos checkup, everything was great except I am a little bothered by their weights. Both boys were 18lbs 5oz making them in the 2% percentile (50th for height). They are mainly on table foods and eat very well (Owen is a piggy) I just expected them to be a little bigger. Of course it doesn't help MIL always reminding us how skinny they are and making jokes we should feed them more.

Anyway very excited to move into the next stage in our lives and little bit sad as the boys are our last babies.

They are so freaking cute....seriously don't worry about their weights; they look great to me. MILs have a way of bring out that issue don't they LOL!

    In the meantime, welcome!!

welcome!! I've found every stage fun... and it seems to keep getting better! welcome to the 2nd year!

as for their weights... my ds was 19 lbs and my dd 18 lb 3oz... and 50 & 75th for height too. I got worried around 15 months when they weren't coming up on the "percent scales"... but I shouldn't have. they are still small, but growing fast. Mine are now 24 & 22 pounds 9 months later, so they've each gained 4-5 pounds which is great... hopefully you can keep everything in mind that they are healthy, active and just small... I think mine really lost a bit of weight near 12 months because they started walking, and burning up so many calories!

keep up the good work, and ignore the naysayers!

:birthday: Owen :birthday: Rhys! And welcome to SY Jen! :) I love their names; are you Welsh by any chance?

I heartily agree with all of the above. They are ridiculously cute!! ;) And don't let anyone worry you about their weights. Kids are who they are, and if they're eating well, then they're exactly the size they're supposed to be. I have terrible Mommy brain, so I can't remember my guys' exact weights at 12 months, but I'm pretty sure they were just about the same as your guys; 18-19 pounds and 50% for height. There's nothing wrong with healthy skinny kids! :good:

 they are adorable!!! :welcome: to SY and :birthday to Owen and Rhys.

At 12 months, my two were probably about the same weight as your guys. They were in the 5th percentile for weight and our pedi suggested feeding them fatty foods (butter, cheese, ice cream) and when we went for our 15 month visit, they managed to get into the 10th percentile and she was not concerned saying that they were following their growth curve and as long as your boys are doing that, I would not worry about it

Time does fly. I try to remind myself to savor every step, laugh, milestone and cry..but it can be difficult when you are sooo busy with two one year olds! Congrats to making it through the first year. BTW, I love the pics! They are so cute! I miss those two little upper and two lower teeth! sooo cute!

They look like big boys to me! At 20 months my girls are 20lbs and 21lbs and 75th and 95th percentile in height. I'm more worried that they are going to giants like me! Honestly they are growing, just up not out :rotflmbo:
Aren't MIL's great for their little comments! I have a book full!
