Our LO's 1st Birthday is approaching quickly and I'm not sure what to do? Can anyone give me ideas or let me know what you did for the celebration!
    Thanks

Ok, I know I am CRAZY , but I have already started planning my boys' party and thinking of ideas! We are going to have a party at our house and the theme is going to be Mod Monkey. We are going to have a banana split station, monkey bread, and either pizza/hamburgers. For party favors I am going to make mini banana bread loafs and for kids mini pinatas (which I am going to make!) Family members are going to stay after to go swimming in neighborhood pool.

    I LOVE party planing! :silly:

I think we are going to do Thing One and Thing Two or a Dr. Seuss if I can't find enough of Thing One & Two supplies.

We had a small party (our twins b-day is 12/26) of about 12 people and theme was Winnie the Pooh. We offered roast beef sandwiches, salads, chips, pretzels, pizza. Our home is small and since their b-day is in the winter we cannot use the outside to make more room. Good luck with your party planning!

For first birthdays, I like sticking to just a color theme...and save the fun themes for when they are older and will actually remember/enjoy them. So, when my girls turn one, I'm going to do a PINK PARTY. Lots of shades of pink...EVERYWHERE. Pink pom poms, pink on pink on pink on pink...pink food, pink drinks...name it. It's fun, simple, easy and you can do the specific stuff later when they can get into it too! :)

(Since you have b/g twins, you could pick more gender neutral colors like lime/aqua...)

what a great thread!!! i have NO clue if i should do something at home or something at a hall.
we have a nice backyard but what if it rains, lol!!! i can not fit a lot of people in my house.

any other themes for b/b twins?
i wasn't sure what to do as far as a theme....some friends of mine have also done entertainment (like clowns, faice painters, etc). but will they really remember since they are 1, lol?

Those are the cutest cupcakes! We have a first birthday party coming up in 2 1/2 weeks. I can't believe they're almost one!!!! :D We're just having a low key, mostly family party with cupcakes and ice cream. Since my boys can't eat much yet (just started feeding therapy, fun, fun) I figure I can keep the food to a minimum, plus we need to save all the money we can for our growing boys :p Thanks to everyone for sharing their party ideas!

I wanted to add that Oriental Trading company has a lot of 1st birthday decorations/napkins/hats/etc on clearance right now. Both boy and girl theme items. I got some adorable cupcake theme items for my girls' first birthday.
