Just curious if anyone has experienced this. I remember being a kid I hated showers for quite awhile. Baths were so much more fun. Not for my DS. He loves the shower! My DH put him in there one day to be quick or someting and now he asks for it every night. We have a shower separate from the tub, with clear walls, so he wants us to shut the door and let him be in there by himself. (We watch from outside the shower, in the bathroom, of course)

I find it a bit harder to clean him, reaching in through the door to soap him down without getting soaked myself. It seemed alot easier to get him clean in the bathtub. But, I know I feel cleaner after a shower, so maybe it's not so bad.

I wonder if once the twins are a bit older and can take baths with him, he'll enjoy baths again. Maybe never again?

One of my twins has gone through phases when she hated (or was scared of?) the bathtub. We didn't try showers with her quite that young (I think she would have been scared of that too), but around age 3.5 she was taking showers almost exclusively. It's definitely a little harder to get them clean without getting completely soaked (in fact we would often just get in the shower with her), but IMO it's worth it if the child will participate willingly rather than having to be dragged kicking and screaming!

ETA: She's back to baths now. And will probably be doing showers again in 6 months... then baths... then showers....

Mine do this as well. Starting around 3, showers only then out of the blue, back to baths.

Mine are into showers right now. I have to admit that I kind of like it better. :pardon: The mess stays contained in the shower because of the shower door. Ours is a walk in shower. So, I think it is pretty easy to get in there and suds them up. PLUS..it is making hair washing a bit easier. I don't have to dump cups of water over the head anymore. They have been on the shower kick for probably a month or two now. Every now and then they want to take a bath, but for the time being it's showers.

Mine are showering pretty much exclusively and I must say I love it. Our shower is a stand-alone without a tub, and it's so much easier than dealing with the wet mess that came with baths around our house. I say if he loves it, just go for it! :)

mine would stay in the tub until their whole bodies looked like prunes if I let them. I think the shower would scare them silly, haha

DS has really bad allergies and eczema, so the doctor said to limit his baths unless he was REALLY DIRTY. He also said to limit the use of soap because of the drying factors. So some nights I just pop him in the shower to rinse off, if I am worried about him being dirty I put some soap on a poof. He loves to use it by himself. We started this around 2 1/2 and he still loves it!

I love this idea!! I'm trying to work towards getting him to clean himself, and poofs are so great for generating a good lather vs washcloths. Of course, DH might object since poofs are kind of "girly", but I'll beg forgiveness instead of ask permission for this one...

My girls have always been showered once they were about 2. Our shower head comes down, so I kneel outside the side and wash hair and supervise body washing, and I do the rinsing. All 3 girls are get a shower "together" in stages. Then, if there's time, they can play in the bathtub.
