My girls love playdough, but it was getting yucky, so I went to Walmart and bought a little plastic duffle bag that contained different tools and cut-outs and playdough. My girls have been playing with it solid since 10:00 this morning...no fussing, arguing, or screaming. They are sharing and showing each other the things they are making...the best $10 I've spent in ages!! [IMG] I LOVE PLAYDOUGH! Cleanup is so worth this much peace!

I am the total opposite of you I HATE PLAYDOUGH! We only had a few of those smaller can that come out around halloween and the boys just like to break it into small pieces. I have tried several times to get them to actually play with it but NOPE they are not having it. My mom get them some hamburger makes playdough thing and a spongbob thing but I have yet to open it. I know I should brave it again but I just dont think Im ready:(

Josh hates it! Especially the one that makes hair  I don't mind it so much. Plus, I like the way it smells.

I love playdough, too. And I know which duffle bag thing you got because we have it, too. Also last week, I was at Lakeshore (the learning/educational store) and got a big tub full of alphabet and shapes cutouts. they boys LOVED those and played forever with them. That was a great $20 investment here.

I agree, playdoh is pretty awesome at keeping the girls busy, but at this age I still have to help them a lot. We got them the playddoh fun factory for Christmas and they love it.

We are using playdoh in school today (I homeschool for preschool) with these mats. We love it here, too.

Those are great Stacy..and they're free! I'm going to have to print those out. My girls are at it again today making cookies and cooking them in their oven [IMG] I hope this lasts a while.

My kids enjoy playing with Playdough as well and we have lots of tools for them to use. The best way to clean is to just let it dry and it gets hard pretty quick and you can sweep it right up. One rule I have with Playdough is that each child may only have one color open at a time. I don't want to mix colors and end up with yuck! I change my ways when they get a little older. Enjoy the quiet time!

Stephanie~ I am the same way! I only let them have one color at a time. Mixing colors would drive me crazy.

Ok, for those of you that don't allow mixing colors...You sound like my mom!!!!!!!!!! I was never allowed to mix colors as a kid. I was so jealous of those who were. They would show those neat creations on the commercials like green dinosaurs with pink spots and white eyeballs with black irises and I would be so jealous. I wanted to make something colorful! My kids are allowed to mix to their hearts' content. They make some of the most beautiful things! Playdoh isn't that expensive (that's saying something coming from me ;) ), so I can buy more when it gets "yucky." But, it takes about a year around here for it to get bad enough to need replacing. In the meantime, they can be so much more creative! I am pro-mixing!
