Dr. wouldn't let me go home

As some of you know I live on an island which is a 7.5 hour roundtrip ferry ride to the nearest hospital/OB clinic. Today I came into town for a prenatal appointment planning on going back home and coming back on Sunday to wait for the week before my scheduled c-section. Last appointment I was measuring 4 weeks ahead and this time I was measuring behind, the Dr. said the baby dropped and is very low. He asked if I was in town to stay until the c/s and when I told him not until Sunday he told me he didn't think it was a good idea for me to go back home because I could go into labor at anytime. So I had to have DH call around to coordinate child care for the girls for a week before they come over. Now I'm worried I'm not going to make it to my date and DH and the girls are going to miss it. If you are the praying type I'd appreciate prayers that he waits until the scheduled date so things can go as planned. Thanks!

Wow, that's a long trip to the hospital! When is your scheduled date? I pray that your little one will stay put so your dh can be there with you!

Thanks, I really appreciate it! The scheduled date is January 18th, my DH and girlies are planning on arriving on the 16th.

I ended up going to labor & delivery today for a non stress test because last night I kept having strong menstrual like cramps and was worried things were starting to happen. Baby looked great and I was not contracting, I'm dialted to a 1 and about 60% effaced. I know none of that really means a whole lot, but I'm feeling a little more confident about making it to my scheduled date.
