Lands End and L.L. Bean had great tankini's last year. I actually bought 2 more at the end of the season I loved the one I got so much!

I've been looking at monokinis. http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=EH-221146&cgname=OSKEYSWMZZZ&rfnbr=6851 that's the one I want to order, but can't bring myself quite yet to spend the money. I've seen Target carry some like it

Wow thats super awesome sexy, not ever gonna grace this old body though haha.

My belly button will never be the same again either, its stuck between the land of the innies and the outies forevermore and with these stretch marks forget about it! Not like I had been in a bikini since my 20's anyway lol. Some suits have great panels in them to help suck things in and lift things up depending on what you need. Good luck!

That's no problem for me! Don't really have any haha

I lucked out with no stretch marks from this pregnancy, but I still don't know if I'd ever wear it.

A bit of been there done that advice for any of you who are first time moms & will be actually taking the kids to the pool or the beach, find a bathing suit that covers well & stays put. Because not only will you be chasing after the little ones, if they are anything like my kids, they will be constantly climbing on you & pulling at your suit & things that you don't want exposed could be popping out all over the place! Tankinis & one pieces work well for outings with the kids & I save the cuter bikini type suits for when I'm out without the kids (rare, but it does happen occasionally!).

And, Jo, that suit is really cute!

Love, love, LOVE my Land's End tankinis. They aren't cropped in the torso so your belly doesn't make an unscheduled appearance. They even have 'long torso' options and adjustable length options with ruching that help camoflauge any twin skin you aren't interested in highlighting or putting on display.

I have about 6 different pieces that I've collected over the years and mix and match depending on mood! They have great deals on suit separates in their overstocks section this time of year. If you have a Sears nearby call and ask if they are a Land's End store. You can order directly from the in-store kiosk for free shipping (or, if you get their catalogs, each one arrives with a free shipping code).

Bathing suit? HA! Lol. I think it's sad that there are more bathing suits than coat selections here! My girls came 10 wks early so I never even made it to fullterm size for a singleton so I don't have additional stretchmarks or the traditional twin skin, yet I've somehow managed to gain 10lbs after having them (after I'd lost so now I'm 20lbs over pre-pg). I definitely have lots of flab but I WILL lose it!

I think I'm heading back to Shapes and WW sometime this week. I want to cry, too :( but for me I know it's my own fault. I've completely let myself go in survival mode. That part is over so I'm ready to work on it! So I say ;)

I did have a really cute skirt tankini with a halter top that I wore right after the girls were born but I don't even fit into that anymore! It lifted my top half and covered my icky bottom half. I never thought I'd wear a skirt suit but it was actually really great. Does that scream "Mom"? Lol.

    Girls,

I actually had the same problem and after reading this post, I checked out Land's End and I LOVE their tankinis and different options for cover up!

THANKS!!!! :woohoo: I am planning a trip to Dominican in April and was going nuts trying to find something.

Actually some swimsuits at Sears are good also, they have torso control ad other shaping tricks that are built in, although not too much option for tankinis, just one piece.

After 2 pregnancies and 3 babies, my body will never be the same. My belly used to be flatter now I have a hang over. UGH! LOL! And no one ever told me my breasts would SHRINK, I didn't have much in the first place. All I can say is REALLY?!!!!

One piece for me for the rest of my life.

    :headbang:

I plan on running a half marathon next year, hopefully that will at least get me back to my pre-pregnancy weight, that last 10 pounds will not go away. Not that I have been trying too hard.

I also highly recommend the Land's End tankini...I think they're cute, comfy, and you can bend, squat, chase, be pulled on, etc and it stays put without anything showing that shouldn't!

Very smart! I never thought of the kids grabbing, but they do. I am kind of long in the body so full piece suits never fit well, and I don't know if a bikini is ever going to look right again *sigh*. Luckily no stretch marks though. So a tankini it likely the best option. I still have 10lbs to lose and its mostly from my butt and thighs, my prepregnancy jeans won't go past the lower thighs :(

I can't even think about summer and putting on a suit yet. Been trying to do dance dance revolution and wii fit but between crying babies its hard to find the time. Our friend bought a new house with a gorgeous pool and hot tub--so I have some motivation :silly:

I threw out my bikini about a year ago. I hardly ever wore one anyway (I bought it for my honeymoon), but I just had to face reality. Fortunately I never had a flat stomach to begin with -- now it's just wrinkly and saggy, on top of being not flat. I still look fine with clothes on, which is 99.9% of the time.

I think moms look sexy in one peices. When your 18 showing off your perfect curves and skin is fine. When your older than 30 with more than one kid, really its about covering and still looking great. You won't feel as self conscious either and really its not about showing off anymore. Its about having some fun in the sun with your kids.

Darn that hang over, if I suck my belly in I really see it, that is what will never go away. :( Thankfully I am back to pre pregnancy weight - unfortunately I was no skinny minny to begin with LOL! I got a great suit at walmart of all places after my last singleton kind of a cross between the skirt type but didn't look so obvious skirty and love it. Don't know if it'll still fit me anymore though. Plus with an 18 month old and 14 month old twins I don't have enough hands to go swimming anymore anyway lol!

Whoa! My kids whould have pulled that off the girls in 2 seconds flat! That's sexy, but way too revealing for me.

I really like to wear tankinis. I'm 40, and while my stomach is pretty flat and I'm in shape, I just can't bring myself to wear a bikini at my age. I feel very comfortable in a tankini with underwire, as I am pretty large-chested and I like to not reveal too much.

I totally took for granted my bikini days. I could eat anything I wanted and still keep a really flat and toned stomach. Now I have a permanent pooch due to separated ab muscles and a layer of extra skin. Last summer I checked out Lands End, and really liked their tankinis. But in the end, I couldn't find one that looked right on me. I liked the concept of the gathered sides, that made the top less clingy. But when trying it on, it just felt so baggy to me. I was afraid when it got wet, it would be even worse. I ended up ordering mine from Victoria's Secret online.

    Here's the one I ordered:
    http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=EH-232884&page=3&cgname=OSSWMTNKZZZ&rfnbr=157&atp=a

I ordered the top in the extra long torso size and the bottoms in the high waist style (in the solid color), so there wouldn't be a slight gap between the top and bottom like the picture shows here.
