holy guacamole

:wacko: My head's still spinning a bit...I've been feeling a little off lately, moodier than usual and kind of queasy. I blamed part of it on my babies weaning pretty suddenly on their own...but this morning I went out and picked up a pregnancy test. BFP! :woah: Within 30 seconds! We ttc for over 2 years to get our twins with clomid, injectables, and eventually an IUI, and even though people said it would be easier after having been pregnant once, I really didn't believe it at all. We both wanted another child at some point, but we had pretty much given up on the idea since we didn't want to do the fertility thing a second time and risk a Jon & Kate result so we just decided to let fate decide. Let me tell you we did NOT think she'd make up her mind quite this quickly!! I'm happy and nervous and scared. I'm not totally sure how far along I am yet...I had two sort of irregular cycles and then some spotting last month so my guess is maybe 6 to 8 weeks. I'm going for an u/s on Monday so send me lots of healthy baby vibes! I miscarried before having the twins so I'm very anxious to see a nice strong heartbeat. Keep your fingers crossed for us, ladies!! And send me tips on how to handle these crazy climbing toddlers with all of this nausea!

Congrats and sending sticky vibes your way!! No advice on the nausea...when it gets really bad I just lay on the floor with the boys...they are gated in the living room.

 

I tried laying on the floor earlier, actually sort of balled up a bit because DS will jump on me if I'm just laying there, and he got down on his belly and slithered his way under me. I can't even explain it, but it was so cute. I was sort of in a fetal position but on my belly, not my side, just trying to lay my head down for a minute and stop the nausea and he managed to worm his way in from the side and force me into a human tunnel. Of course he was giggling the whole time! Apparently mommies don't lay down..they dance around and play! So when I try, forget it!

If the nausea is bad I would recommend asking your DR about diclectin. I took it with both my pregnancies and it was a life saver for me. Best of luck

Congratulations! I hope the nausea ends soon... ick. I have 'fond' memories of lying on the floor in each of my pregnancies trying to get the nausea to lift. And the kids either playing around me or looking at me like I've very strange!

OMG!!!! I am getting so teary! Blame it on the hormones maybe, but how exciting! What a little miracle! Yikes, though ... they will be close in age ... but you know ... while you are in the thick of it, may as well REALLY be in the thick of it! And your kids will be so close when they are older! oh, and also .. so sorry about the sickies ... I have no advice ... I was sick with both of my pregnancies and it was hard when I was sick and working but waaaaay harder when I was sick as a SAHM. I don't know how I got through it really ... just grin and bear it I guess. Let the housework go and try to get some downtime every time they do ... oh, and we have watched a lot of TV ... sad, but true =) Call and complain to your husband, sister, mom ... =) anyone who will listen.

 

I saw a healthy heartbeat and just one baby! Thanks for all of the positive thoughts!!!!

Yep. That is about how I felt!! 7 years of infertility and only IVF to get the twins... spontanious twins (Evan & vanishing). Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you that it happened naturally this time.

Congrats Beth!!! I cant believe you're going to have a baby #3. So for Nausea- find something you can eat that makes it better (for me it was yogurt), invest in those seaband bracelets (those were a lifesaver) and get a stack of books and start reading to the kids like its your full time job. That was the only way I could get them to let me sit down for a while! So much for going back to work, eh?

 

Only 8 weeks so I'm still nervous but trying to think positive thoughts! Guess I need a new ticker!

It is a vessel! I remember reading about both of you and actually telling my husband I better go back on the pill just in case - but then we decided to just see what would happen on the off chance that we could! Who knew? So I am working if you can believe it - all weekend and babysitting two more during the week. Getting four kids to sit down for a story is a challenge, but it's keeping my mind off of some of the nausea. I've been sucking on lemon slices and laying on the floor for five minutes whenever they all get busy with something else and until someone spots me and comes running over to climb on me :bad: Better get off the computer and sneak in some food while they're all napping!
