Just when you think you're over the hump

I have to say that age 4 has been MUCH better for us overall. That said...

This morning Amy had a tantrum because, of their drawer full of underpants in a wide variety of colors and decorations, the only ones with bows on them were Sarah's special ones from Santa. So she was demanding that I go out and buy her some panties with bows.

I'm tempted to throw out all of the little ingrate's new Tinkerbell panties and replace them with plain white. Think that would show her? :spiteful:

Oh yeah, still have tantrums over here too! The other day Ainsley had one because DH was helping them get their toothpaste on the toothbrush, and he had squirted too much on Bea's brush. So he took the toothbrush and transferred some of the toothpaste onto Ainsley's brush. Well, Ainsley had a meltdown because it wasn't her own toothpaste and she didn't get to squirt some on with Daddy. So she had a meltdown for probably an hour, which made bedtime horrible (I hate bedtime conflict, I probably would have just rinsed it off and let her do it, but he's all about "it's the principle of it"). Bea's had a few winners too.

Tantrums are an understatement. If the whining, crying, kicking, screaming because we can't get what we want or because they can't their socks on straight or they dropped a cookie, etc, etc...I'm going to lose my mind. They have such short fuses!

So glad to know my 4 yr. olds are the only ones. It seems everything has to be there way...there is not other way. I may have a temper tantrum every now and then because of it and I'm 31. :FIFblush:

:umm: I hate to tell you this, but my 9 year old still occasionally throws a temper tantrum. <_< But I know Emilie is very stubborn, like her big sister, and can really throw a big one.

I knew someone would worry about that -- that's why I made a point of saying that things are generally better. Think of it this way -- when someone throws a tantrum these days, it's noteworthy enough that I bothered to post about it! I remember months when it was a good day if each of them had just one tantrum -- MUCH better now.

I love that you called her "the little ingrate." That's exactly how I feel about mine some days.
