So, some people and articles say that morning sickness is worse with twins, others say it varies pregnancy to pregnancy no matter how many you are carrying. However, both of my doctors say it tends to be worse with twins because hormones are so high and that singletons that have severe m/s often have high hormones as well for whatever reason. What are your opinions, is it worse with twins in general and please tell me there is an end in sight!?! I am still pretty miserable a lot of the time at 10 weeks 4 days, it is almost over, right? :drown:

 every pregnancy of mine has been different. I was sickest with my last son, then the twins come second and my oldest was the least amount of ms.
The twin pregnancy was pretty bad but at about 4 months it got much better and as long as I kept food in my stomach at all times I was okay. However my last pregnancy I HAD to have meds because I couldn't keep anything down and literally between the getting sick and feeling tired I felt like I had the flu for 3months until I got the meds.
 I hope you have a better experience! But every pregnancy is so different.

I had 4 pregnancies and the twin pregnancy was no worse than the others. It might have actually been slightly better (less sick feeling)

These are my first babies so I can't compare, but I started throwing up and feeling downright awful around 7 weeks. It wasn't morning either it was afternoon and evening. I started on diclectin right away (used for pregnant ladies)and it made a huge difference. I lost 4lbs my first trimester. To be honest, I didn't want to "tough" it out. I tried for a little while and with working full time and doing graduate course work, I was not willing to be out of commission. It made me feel better almost right away. I only used it for 3-4 weeks and then I was fine.

    Good luck!!

Didn't make any diff in my experience. I threw up a lot with my 1st pregnancy, constantly nauseated with my 2nd but only vomited once. Nausea is here this time as well but no throw-up so far.

My morning sickness was much worse with my son. With him I lost 10 lbs in two weeks because I couldn't keep anything down. With the girls, I was sick, but I could at least function.

I did not have m/s with either my singleton or twin pregnancy. I think it really just depends.

    This is my 3rd pregnancy.
Yes, for me it's been worse with twins.
Started earlier, was stronger, lasted longer.
I'm still nauseous now at 18plus weeks but I'm not longer throwing up.

It can be more severe with twins... that's what caused me to think I might have twins in the first place! I was SICK from about 7 weeks until about 6 months. I could hardly eat most days. Take the meds your doctor offers.. you need some relief from it!

I am on Zofran already and it helps, I don't actually throw up now. I just have a thard time eating much of anything, especially at night! Something might finally sound good, but then after a few bites I gag and can't eat it anymore. I tried unisom last night and it did make my stomach feel MUCH better, but I also took a 3 hour nap from 5:30 - 8:30 :FIFblush:

My morning sickness got better at 15 weeks. Before that, all I could eat was tomato soup and strawberries without gagging. I had to be at work at 5am and every morning I would excuse myself for about 15 minutes to go throw up. It was horrible. I lost 12 lbs. Once it was gone though, it was GONE! I have heard that m/s is worse for your first pregnancy so that could be it too. I think its a combination of hormones and nerves for first time mommies!

I "knew" my twins were boys because my morning sickness was tolerable. My first two are girls and I was sick for the whole fine.

I had all day nausea with my son from about 6 weeks to 14 weeks. With my twins, the nausea started before I got a positive pregnancy test (4 weeks), and persisted until 16 weeks. I also puked 1-3 times per day from 7 weeks to 14 weeks with the twins. I actually think the puking was better than the all day nausea because at least I got some momentary relief and some validation that it wasn't all in my head! I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Sucking on starlight peppermints helped me, as did eating citrus - especially grapefruit.

Mine has definitely been worse than with my singleton pregnancy. As of today I am 16 weeks 3 days and I still have occasional episodes of morning sickness, but I am also still taking medication for it...I've tried not taking the meds and I just wind up where I was a few weeks ago.

I'm not throwing up all day long like I was before...and that probably tapered off around 14 weeks.

Hope you get to feeling better!

I'm much sicker this time than with my twins. With the twins it started around 9wks and only lasted a few weeks and I only threw up occasionally...this time I'm constantly gagging, nothing sounds good to eat and throwing up all the time it seems! Maybe it means this one is a girl!?! Guess we'll see in June:)

Nothing to compare it to, since the twins were my first and only pregnancy, but I did have MS bad. Lots of puking. And it lasted longer than I expected. But the rest of my pregnancy was wonderful!

    Best wishes!

I took unisom because the other didn't work for me, and it worked wonderfully!! I did take it at night because it is also a sleep aid. I'm glad to hear something is working!

These are my first kids, but I've got a good friend with 4 and she was AMAZED at the sickness. It started at about 7 weeks (before I knew I was pregnant) & lasted until about 4, 4.5 months. It should go away for you. Whatever you can eat, just try to keep a little in you at all times. For me, it was Mexican food. I ate tacos/burritos CONSTANTLY.

    Good luck!

It totally depends on the pregnancy. With our singleton I was nauseous though 16 weeks. Then with the girls I had almost no m/s - I threw up once at 15 weeks, but other than that felt pretty good (so was really shocked to find twins since I thought all twin pregnancies meant bad m/s). Then there's this pregnancy, which has been worse than both other pregnancies combined m/s wise. I was sick at 5 weeks through until about 16 weeks and was on meds for it. Even with the meds I still felt nauseous, but at least I could function. I'm convinced that for whatever reason my body reacts to boys with more m/s - and sure enough I'm carrying 2 boys this time. Funny how that works! So no, a twin pregnancy does not always mean bad m/s and more than a singleton means that you won't have bad m/s. It's all how your body reacts to the hormones at that point in time.
