all one of my LO's will eat is sweet potatoes.
the other likes peas, carrots, etc. i feel like ALL they ever eat is sweet potatoes!

when i give him peas, he literally makes a throw-up face and gags!

have you tried mixing peas with the sweet potato? Mine didn't really like zuchini, but I mix it with sweet potato and they do like it.

YES! two cubes (we make our food) of sweet potatoes with 1 cube of peas. he still gags it up.

Try mixing the sweet potatoes with other veggies, so that he gets a little taste of both.

ETA...sorry, posting at the same time. Try adding less of the "other" veggie at first, and work up to 1/2 and 1/2, and finally just straight "other veggie".

I agree with mixing them. But some babies will just never like certain foods and I had a couple of kids who would never eat peas no matter what I did! Try mixing the carrots with the sweet potatoes, it's not as likely that he will be able to taste those in there. Also squash is difficult to identify when mixed with something else.

Warning. Too many sweet potatoes will make your baby orange. (seriously) I would try something like beans or broccoli. Perhaps they just don't like peas. Mine LOVED broccoli!!

I agree with mixing them. My DD makes the gag face at a lot of things, but I just keep mixing them with things she likes and after a while give her more and more of the things she didn't like, and she can tolerate them.

Also, I would recommend trying squash- butternut and acorn. Similar taste to sweet potatoes and it will at least let you change it up a bit.

one of mine makes a "disgusted" face even before he tasted the food. I have to force a couple of spoons before he decides he likes it and asks for more. They too like sweet potatoes and b/squash because they are sweet and taste better than plain boiled potato or carrots or peas. Try and combine the veggies, not only with sweet potato. I found that baking the carrot it makes it taste better, sweeter and they liked that mixed with baked/boiled zucchini. also they like apples so I boil an apple together with the zucchini and they like that too. and sometimes I just put some apple or banana in their veggie so they will eat.

My DD gags on peas too! I have found that mixing veggies doesn't work with her. What I have done is mix a little bit of pears or apples with the veggie and then she will eat it! I try to give her some bites with more fruit, then when she is eating well I give her less fruit and more veggie....I figure she is getting the veggie so it doesn't matter that she will only eat sweet stuff right now....I keep trying the veggie straight and hope that one day she will take it.

My Brandon sounds like your baby. I actually gave him a bit of Earth's Best Winter Squash the other day and he literally "shook it off" and made the worst face I've ever seen him make, LOL. But like your LO I kept giving him spoonfuls and he ended up eating half of the 4 oz jar. Likewise he shuddered at the first taste of peas last week then proceeded to eat the full 2oz jar. I have also recently noticed that they take their morning rice cereal with fruit (pears, or apples + apricot) a whole lot easier than they do straight veggies (they usually don't make a sour face at all with that meal). They've even been turning their nose up at plain carrots and sweet potatoes, veggies they used to eat plain ok. So today I mixed the carrots with just a small amount of Happy Bellies rice cereal, and Brandon didn't even make a sour face on the first bite, like he often does even with things he likes. In fact he inhaled that dinner. So I guess just try different combinations of stuff until you find what your LOs will tolerate. But like PPs have said, they may just genuinely not like certain foods likes peas.

I was going to say the same thing about too many orange vegetables making the baby turn orange. After a few days of too many carrots and sweet potatoes I've noticed an orange tint to their noses and cheeks. I think mixing is a good idea or keep trying to reintroduce the green veggies after a few more weeks...in the mean time, perhaps offer a variety of fruits instead of overdoing the sweet potatoes.
    Good luck!

being vegan, the girls are going to HAVE to love veges. there is no other option! (sorry bubs)
we havent started on solids , although we will be very, very soon.

once allergies have been found (if any) Im planning on mincing all veges down to a watery/mush so they get it all at once/

have you tried mincing the peas/sweet potato so there is no deciphering between the two? maybe even add some of their milk!
