this week has been good! besides the news of my grandmother tonight. overall happy and remaining positive as deaths a natural part of life and she deserves to go, its not fair to keep her here as sad as it is to say :( So I shall stay happy until the time comes then have the wonderful experinces to last a life time with her :D

    How has everyone been?? :)

I know I know, we've officialy dropped the stupid company and will be using our 3G card until February when we move so no more internet troubles. I should've done this a long time ago. Luckily we also got a bunch of money refunded.... I might've gotten a tad angry with them and I think I scared them :p

Kendra has been keeping up in here while I've been gone. Thanks Kendra!

You're telling me! And then the company gives nonsense excuses which they think I'll believe. This time it was that the tower was hit by lightning.

Good news is other than the internet troubles I have nothing to complain about. André finishes work tomorrow and we'll be flying to Zambia on Tuesday (So yes I'll be absent until the 3rd of January) I trust you guys will behave while I'm gone. :p

I thought you had already moved? Where are you moving to in February?

Well that's a surprise  Who knew towers were often hit by lightning? I can believe the tower was hit by lightening but if it had an impact on the functioning of the equipment it would be because it wasn't done properly in the first place.

While I'll be good I don't know about Adrian :p

You and Andre look strange in your avatar :p It might just be because it is stretched but it looks strange :p

We have but we're moving again. Contract at current house only until then ;) and we want to go to the Cape!

Exactly... besides I can believe one random bad luck whatever in a year, maybe but this is the millionth thing to happen :gah:

That's probably because we're making exagerated happy faces. Do you prefer scary? (I know not a pretty site are we?) :p

I know, but you're not moving there in February are you?

Probably :p For somebody who supposedly doesn't like having her photograph taken you are in an awful lot of "silly" photographs :p

I do but doesn't change the fact that I want to live other places too.... I like complicated

If it's up to us: YES! Will have to see what the new year has in store for us though. You've known me long enough to know I really don't like photos of me taken but it's easier when you act silly than trying to look all 'natural' or 'pretty' or whatever ;)

You can move here :p There are plenty of South Africans here :p

We ended up only getting an hour and half of sleep that night  BUT we're safely in Zambia  It's very very VERY hot so I might finally get a tan

My friend's office has internet (SLOW) so I'll check in whenever we come here.

We're going out tomorrow for some water sports. I'm skiing for the first time so it should be entertaining for everyone else! Want to bet on how many bruises I'll earn? :p

  26. TwinRichard

    TwinRichard Well-Known Member

Heat doesn't have anything to do with getting a tan :p If you're anything like me you'll probably get burnt instead anyway :p

I take it you'll be going to a lake? Zambia was landlocked the last time I checked :p

Bren how did it go? It's actually very easy to skii, a bit tricky on the turns but usually "soft" falls, not much bruising but a lot of stifness the nexy day :p with the tube though you get lots of bruises! That is if you try to throw of each other, looks like a rag doll skipping on the water when you fall :p we always go skiing in december with CP's sister and I love it, we went skiing last friday and will go again before new years :)

I'm enjoying my holidays, on sunday we're going to my parents again and will be seeing my brother and older sister so I'm looking forward to the visit :)

I know, that is why I am applying sunblock every hour. I'm taking no chances. Andre has gotten burnt already with the sunblock on, he says the sun here isn't familiar with sunblock [IMG] [IMG]

It is but we're on the border. Their farms and house is next to the Kariba Lake (on Zambia's side obviously) It's close to Siavonga if you want to look it up. I've had this argument with many, we are in Zambia and (part of) the Kariba meer is also! They even have a small Island on it. We haven't gone yet, things came up so now we're going to do the water sports in Malawi. Cleaner water so that's nice [IMG]

I'm sure it's going to be more, I've already got 9 since I arrived! I'll give you an update when we get back.

Gerda we're going to do the tube as well. I hope I get the skiing right quickly! As for the bruises, I'll deal [IMG] I'm glad you're having a great time as well Geks. [IMG]

Wow it has been some time since I have been here last!
Great to hear that you are all enjoying the holidays. :) And once again I need to apologise for being absent so much :sorry:
I will try to be around a bit more often.

I hope all of you are doing well. :wavey:
I have just been very busy and having a lot on my mind. I am having a great time doing the internship and really hope I can stay there when I finish school, unfortunetley with the economic crisis the chances are slim to none right now. I am really learning not to be to insecure about the things I do at the internship (I am always questioning wether I do things correctly), so far I have been doing well there so I really hope it continues like this.

It is so strange to think that some of you are enjoying the sun, whereas last week we had so much snow for the first time in years.
We normally only get really wet snow, and it dissappears within a day but this time it was over 20 cm and stayed for over a week. Holland was in chaos, let me tell you. No metro, no busses, no trains and cars where having trouble  We are just so not used to a bit of snow. I had a great time with all my co workers having snow ball fights during the breaks.

Right now I have had a good christmas with the family, not to many fights thankfully and I have been enjoying the company of my nephew who is growing up so fast it is unbelievable.

I also have some news about Shelley which I am definetley not happy about, it has caused alot of stress for our family and is one of the reasons I haven't been here much as well. She's pregnant again
Don't get me wrong I love my nephew but this is the worst thing she could of done at this time. She has very little money, no real education yet, I have no idea how she is doing with her schooling and already has a kid without a dad in the picture. Doesn't look like this guy will stick around either.
This next child will probably be born around the same time as Jonathan except a year later. So next year she will be a 19 year old girl with two kids from two different fathers with no support from the dads.
I have known for about 6 weeks, but have felt very reluctant telling you guys about this. I just really didn't want to share with you that my little sister is this stupid, and excuse me for my words but it really is just the dumbest thing she could do.

So I really didn't want to end with a rant on my post, as I am doing well ;) but I did really need to share it with you as I have always been able to share so much with you guys.:)

Enjoy the rest of you holidays  :wavey:

No freaking way Joyce! I can't imagine having them so close together and with a different guy (so Jonathan's father isn't around?) Its great that she gets so much from your family.

As for your internship. Its great that you are doing so well. You never know if they'll want to keep you around so keep at it. (my cousin just signed a letter of employment for when she finishes school in April with her student job)

We are having a wet snow right now. Just icky.

Had a good Christmas. I'm off til Jan 4 so planning on doing nothing.

I know, what I was saying was that you were going to water ski on a lake, rather than on the ocean ;):p

It sounds like it is going well then ;) The economic problems might help you get a job with them if they are happy with what you are doing now. It would cost them less to hire somebody who is already used to how they do things than it would to hire somebody off the street who they would need to train and who would take a while to get used to things. That assumes they are looking for somebody though.

I can imagine ;) 20cm is likely to slow down things even in the most well-prepared places as well.

I suspect this will make things more difficult than they already are for all of you (particularly your father if he is still travelling backwards and forwards).

Well it isn't your fault if she does these things without thinking. Unfortunately the consequences are likely to fall at least partly on you regardless. Hopefully things will work out this time as well and she won't have too many problems.

Hi Joyce, nice to hear from you again and I'm glad it is going well for you and that you are enjoying the internship.I agree with Richard about them rather hiring you than someone from the street so I truly hope this works out for you in the end :) if not at least you gained valuable experience!

I'm sorry about shelley, espesially sinch her lack of responsibility means you and your father will probably be put in an even more stressful sitsuation.I'm glad you shared this with us because you don't have to worry because it's not you that weren't thinking ;) at least we can be some emotional support ot somewhere you can come to vent.

I agree with this, I hope that the situation goes ok and yous dont get really stressed.

an update on what has been a emotional/long week. So my great grandmother passed last Wednesday, I wanted to skip the holidays but wasnt allowed to because my fahers like a little kid in the candy store at christmas. Boxing day (Saturday) had to get up at 2am after getting to bed at midnight to drive up to Tweed head which is 15hrs drive away from where I live a very LONG day, to get up there about 6pm I got to meet my older sister and my nephew and neice - they loved me straight away considering they dont take to others well apparently! So that was a long day with just me and dad in the car - he bullied me :( but I got to drive his "baby" which NEVER happens - 45mins stuck in traffic didnt stall it once was proud of myself because I used to stall it all the time as it scared me - compared to my manual or mums auto. We had to get up at 5.30am and left at 6am to drive home with Skye and the two kids, we had to stop in and see people on the way and got home at 11.45pm! They are down for a few weeks, which is nice but they are VERY full on, so is Skye. :unknw:

A really long day, food poisioning contracted by eating half a sausage roll the other half Magenta ate and it didn't effect her, so have spent the day in bed feeling crap with a huge headache - not fun at all.

On Wednesday shall be another early morning as we have to get up at 5am to drive 6hrs to attend my Nans funeral, chloe has decieded to not go because she cant face my family after the issues that occured last week when we were told that she didnt have long. We all think shes going to regret it because she regrets not getting a photo with her the last time we seen her. But we will support her wishes. A long week full of drama last week the same this week, very overwhelming!

I hope everyone had a nice christmas for those who celebrate it.
