My girls had their 18 month visit yesterday, and all went well. No scolding from the doc but just an encouragement to keep working with them on their verbal skills. He had us fill out this status 'report card' thingie on what skills they can do all the time, sometimes do, and dont do yet. for the most part, i felt pretty good about the answers. Anyway, the weigh-in... for the past year or so, elena has weighed 3 lbs more than sadie, every single visit. this time, the gap has widened to 4 lbs. here are some stats..
Sadie- 21 lbs 14 oz, 32.3 inches, she remains 10% in weight and 75% in height
Elena- 25 lbs 14 oz, 32.5 inches, she remains 75% in weight and 75% in height
they both got their H1N1 vaccines and had their fingers poked for a hemoglobin, both were good... 12.9 and 13.2.
then we went to see santa and the pic is hilarous... 2 terrified crying babies. then a day full of shopping at the mall, they both did excellent.

great report! wow, that's so interesting how siblings raised together can weigh so much different... they are individuals! we didn't get a finger prick, was there a reason for the hemoglobin test? just curious what that was about, since we didn't get that.

its always nice to come away from a well visit and feel like the kids are doing great! so happy for you. sorry for the scary Santa visit!

there was no specific reason given for the hemoglobin test. doc just said that it's part of a routine 18 month visit. i'm guessing it's just to ensure that the kids have diverse diets and are getting their nutritional needs met, as far as iron anyway... lol.
