I have not been on in forever.I have been so busy with school!Anyways I have a question. The twins are going to be one on the 9th of december. We are having their party on the 6th.Money has been kinda tight since Dh has been off work since August. For their birthday should I just get them a couple things since christmas is 2 weeks later?Anyone else who has babies with birthdays close to christmas?what did u do?I feel like I should go all out since its their first birthday and my last babies, but I want to be able to get them a lot for christmas.which should I go all out for?they love ripping open presents.Im so confused.HELP!

My twosome's birthday is the day after Christmas. For their first Christmas and birthday, we did most of the presents on Christmas and gave them a few gifts for their birthday. It really depends on what you are comfortable with. You could do half and half. Mine really did not know the difference when they turned one, I think we could have given them empty boxes and they would have been just as happy. Good luck with your decision!

If money is tight, I would definitely not go overboard with the presents. Honestly, they aren't really going to know the difference anyway. I say save money while you have the chance, it gets only harder as they get older!

Oh, and my oldest daughter's birthday is in the middle of December, and several years ago we started celebrating it & having her party in November. That way, it's further from Christmas, more of her friends are available (scheduling in December is a nightmare!), and she is happy because it's sooner. Just a thought!

My older son was born 12/7. We buy him 1 item for his birthday since he gets presents from everyone else. Then we buy him something special for christmas. I find the first weekend in Dec is ok for birthday parties but later on in the month it gets tight.

I've got a friend who does half birthdays for her child born between Christmas and New Year so she is celebrating in June for the same reasons
