what to do in winter

I need ideas. Last winter my twins were so young and napping so often that we hardly went out but it wasn't as much of an issue. They are now almost 16 months and we go walking almost every morning. When we don't, they get cranky! What am I going to do when it gets cold/wet/snowy?

I'm looking into taking some classes with them but it is pricey and nothing is confirmed yet. What do you do?

 

You could go on the Nick Jr. website for some craft ideas to do with them, take them for walks around the mall, coloring, finger painting, I also have mine dance to music on my I-Pod.

 

Thanks for the ideas. What age did you start coloring and finger painting?

 

Coloring we started around 14-15 months...at first it's tempting for them to eat crayons. Finger painting, alot of people have started that around 18 months (some before that) I am bit of wuss about cleaning up the mess, so it's something we barely do but my kids LOVE to make a mess.

 

We spent lots of time walking the mall before it opened, it is great since there really is nothing for them to get into and lots of space to wonder around.
Some malls have indoor playgrounds, library story time, children's museum, bundle them up and head outdoors.

 

Make forts in the living room
We bought ballpit balls to put in their little swimming pool
Day trips anywhere? A change of scenery is always good for parents and kids
They can still play outside. It's a lot of work getting the snowpants/boots on, but I find it great exercise to pull a sled through snow.
